I love these small details in the red moon scene: the fire, the water controlled by the ocean spirit and the waterbenders’ eyes, they all had intense colors and the contrast with the grey/black background adds to a much deeper atmosphere. I think these elements portray perfectly the tension and sadness of the general scene and really show the geniality of this show!
I just realized that when Zhao killed the moon spirit fish, everything's grey, but only Yue's eyes had color, 'cause she has a piece of the moon spirit.
I have to admit, I wish this list would have been longer. Yakone and Master Pakku probably should be included in here. Remember Pakku was with the White Lotus when they took back Ba-sing-se during the comet and he cut through those comet-empowered fire benders pretty easily.

It's very plausible that are a lot more waterbenders in the Avatar universe who are capable of bloodbending but they weren't shown or mentioned on-screen or in the comics.

Amon is the best BLOODbender, we barely see him bend anything else. Katara is the best waterbender because she mastered the entire element: ice bending, water bending, bloodbending, plantbending, cloudbending, healing. No one else can do it all.

Y'all forgetting that this isn't a 'most powerful bloodbender' list, it's a 'most powerful waterbender' list, we're not just talking about only the sub-skills of waterbending (e.g bloodbending, etc) but the skills, resourcefulness, raw power and creativity of the bender, on lok we didn't even get to see much of Amon's waterbending (we only saw him waterbend once) so there is no way you can say he is the most powerful or skilledwaterbender when people like katara (who is literally a waterbending prodigy and canonically stated to be the greatest waterbender who ever lived) are around

She didn't really master bloodbending she hated that she even was a bloodbender and only used it twice, because she thought it was disturbing and taboo.

Ming Hua can control water really well, and we've seen katara release herself from hama's bloodbending even before she can bloodbend. So i think the same thing can happen to ming hua when she face bloodbenders(probably not amon). It's just my theory though. But yeah i think she is in a greater rank than Hama since Hama could only bloodbend at fullmoon

While Katara on the otherhand who also mastered waterbending probably the 2 styles which is the northern and the southern style, Katara also mastered healing and learned bloodbending. Katara is resourceful and proficient, her waterbending is more superior than Ming hua. I believe their fight would be interesting and cool but we all know Katara would win. Katara invented the water arms so for sure she knows how to counter it not to mention Katara's speciality in waterbending is water whips, Ming hua cannot go near to her and wouldn't stand a chance. Katara has more waterbending techniques and abilities unlike Ming hua who is just offensive and aggressive, Katara would outsmart and clap her xD just like what Mako did and what Katara did to Azula.
Yea, I agree with Ming Hua being in that ranking. We never really saw her resisting bloodbending, per se. So its sensible that the ones above her are all bloodbenders and the literal Moon Goddess. Besides she had a hard time fighting against Kya who was in her 50s and mostly trained as a healer.

Honestly Ming Hua can use watter as arms... but so could even Tonraq. Also I think Tonraq is really underapreciated. I really like his more earthbender-like style, with a lot of emphasis on mele combat and ice weppons. I really liked that he was bending like No other watterbender and that made him kind of powerfull in my opinion

In a bloodbending duel he’s destroying her but purely water bending then katara is beating him. That’s what this list is based off, just pure waterbending feats. We saw Amon do a huge water spout but that one feat compared to all of kataras feats is nothing.
@@jacobmiller2663 I think it’s not just factoring in water bending considering all the blood benders were so high even though there regular water bending feats were nearly nonexistent. For example Hama being on the list when we hardly see her do more than two small feats (besides blood bending). Yet unalaq and paku were left out.
I think Amon is superior, reflecting all the other elements with his bloodbending and bloodbend without moving. Not to mention he can just bloodbend + take your bending away
However, in the end, he could not completely control only one Korra and was hit by airbending, which threw him out of the building. Although his father was able to suppress an entire meeting, and he is not even in the top.

I feel like the twins should have been on the list. It probably took them multiple tries to get that synced together, which payed off since they're incredibly strong as a duo
Number 1 is a MASSIVE technicality. I would argue she's more of a spirit bender for being able to merge her spirit with what was left of the Moon Spirit, which is a massive feat in itself. Also, put some respect on the twin's name: They were enough to force Korra into the Avatar State to shake them, and Korra as a principle water-bender is pretty scary.

I low key think Ming Hua was the best because she had the most challenges to overcome and her bending was always so fluid and creative every single time.

Nah, Katara was literally taught bloodbending over days, remember Hama's first lesons about using the water inside of plants etc, she was lowkey teaching Katara the groundworks, and then she gave Katara a full on demonstration and palced her into a high pressure situation to force Katara to learn it fast. Also Katara only ever managed the very basics of bloodbending, holding someone still and pushing them to kneel. Katara had a lot of tallent and potential, exactly why Hama wanted to teach her, but, Hama was definitly more skilled and talented both at waterbending and bloodbending.

I also think Amon really is on a league of his own! Even in that short moment of water bending that we do see, it was a pretty impressive feat, generating such a large body of water so quickly, considering he was coming immediately from a state of unconsciousness. Edit : it even almost resembles the kind of wave Aang generates in the avatar state!

Y'all forgetting that this isn't a 'most powerful bloodbender' list, it's a 'most powerful waterbender' list, we're not just talking about only the sub-skills of waterbending (e.g bloodbending, etc) but the skills, resourcefulness, raw power and creativity of the bender, on lok we didn't even get to see much of Amon's waterbending (we only saw him waterbend once) so there is no way you can say he is the most powerful or skilledwaterbender when people like katara (who is literally a waterbending prodigy and canonically stated to be the greatest waterbender who ever lived) are around

While Katara on the otherhand who also mastered waterbending probably the 2 styles which is the northern and the southern style, Katara also mastered healing and learned bloodbending. Katara is resourceful and proficient, her waterbending is more superior than Ming hua. I believe their fight would be interesting and cool but we all know Katara would win. Katara invented the water arms so for sure she knows how to counter it not to mention Katara's speciality in waterbending is water whips, Ming hua cannot go near to her and wouldn't stand a chance. Katara has more waterbending techniques and abilities unlike Ming hua who is just offensive and aggressive, Katara would outsmart and clap her xD just like what Mako did and what Katara did to Azula.

Honestly Ming Hua can use watter as arms... but so could even Tonraq. Also I think Tonraq is really underapreciated. I really like his more earthbender-like style, with a lot of emphasis on mele combat and ice weppons. I really liked that he was bending like No other watterbender and that made him kind of powerfull in my opinion

In a bloodbending duel he’s destroying her but purely water bending then katara is beating him. That’s what this list is based off, just pure waterbending feats. We saw Amon do a huge water spout but that one feat compared to all of kataras feats is nothing.

For example Hama being on the list when we hardly see her do more than two small feats (besides blood bending). Yet unalaq and paku were left out.

Number 1 is a MASSIVE technicality. I would argue she's more of a spirit bender for being able to merge her spirit with what was left of the Moon Spirit, which is a massive feat in itself. Also, put some respect on the twin's name: They were enough to force Korra into the Avatar State to shake them, and Korra as a principle water-bender is pretty scary.

Nah, Katara was literally taught bloodbending over days, remember Hama's first lesons about using the water inside of plants etc, she was lowkey teaching Katara the groundworks, and then she gave Katara a full on demonstration and palced her into a high pressure situation to force Katara to learn it fast. Also Katara only ever managed the very basics of bloodbending, holding someone still and pushing them to kneel. Katara had a lot of tallent and potential, exactly why Hama wanted to teach her, but, Hama was definitly more skilled and talented both at waterbending and bloodbending.

I absolutely love Kya but Unalaq, Tonraq, Yakone and Eska and Desna really should’ve been on this list! And Korra too, if we’re including avatars as well!
I also think Amon really is on a league of his own! Even in that short moment of water bending that we do see, it was a pretty impressive feat, generating such a large body of water so quickly, considering he was coming immediately from a state of unconsciousness.
Edit : it even almost resembles the kind of wave Aang generates in the avatar state!

@Niko SRB lol they arent superior in fact they mostly purely bloodbend. Katara has masterd every sub water class there is. Also she could easily bloodbend first try while yakone's sons needed years of practise to learn it in broad day light. Dont forget katara just chooses not to bloodbend, she can escape from their grip and whoop them in 2 seconds.
