K-pop is an industry not a music genre. Companies contract, train and compete talented young people to make groups. BTS came through BigHit, which is now part of Hybe.

I know they are korean but kpop is a niche genre and for bts I can't say they are a niche at all with their diverse discography you cannot box them in a certain genre and especially when the bts rapline and singers be singing in English. Jungkook recently released a full album in English so is his album also kpop because he is korean . I don't know but this sounds like xenophobia to me does that mean only white singers should be considered pop . Rapline be releasing English stuff too yet you wanna box them in a kpop category. Does them being Asian makes them non pop when Jungkook and other members are releasing songs fully in English 🤦‍♂️
