Hi Alvaroandresmedrano, I am so glad! It is nice, chemistry does not change at the fundamental level:)

Hey teacher, our chemistry teacher gave us a question:14 grams of an alkane burns .how many moles of water will be produced. Is it solvable?

Hi Abdelfatahbakr, I thought about this and I propose it is unsolvable. You either need the chemical formula for the alkane or the mass of the water or carbon dioxide. I hope that helps. Tricky question. Thanks!

Great video, I especially appreciated its pace. I have two questions:
Since oxygen's mass is not given, could we substract the mass of the hydrocarbon from the mass of the sum of the products? It seems as though we could since I assume mass is conserved.
Additionally, could we use a molar ratio of O2 to one of the products to find oxygen's mass if it isn't given and we don't use subtraction to find it.

Hi! Yes to your first question regarding subtraction based on conservation of mass. No to the second question because it is impossible to balance the reaction without knowing the chemical formula of the hydrocarbon first. Therefore the molar ratio is unknown. I appreciate the "thinking" questions! I hope it goes well:)
