Dana Ward talked with Michael Sheen at the press junket for 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2' about perfecting Aro's creepy laugh, his vampire transformation and the twist ending.

Totally agree.
He said in a previous interview that his kids liked the books, so when he was asked to audition he did so because he wanted to connect more to his kids. They, however, felt more embarrassed than anything. That’s why he took the role. Which I think is sweet.
This comment only strengthens with time. 😅 n I feel bad because I only watched the spoofs until now I suppose I might still...Might 😂
@@bethrose190 I didn’t know that! That just goes to show what class act he is. He took a role that he knew was beneath him for his kids. What a lovely thing that is.

I like the subtext running through the interview of "we both know this film is so bad it's hilarious."
So if it's a homosexual romance, it must be a high quality show, but if it's a heterosexual romance, it's "so bad". So hypocritical.
Robin Lillian the film is just bad? At least in this persons opinion. Probably because of the questionable script and kinda cringy acting/makeup. no one said anything about homosexuality or heterosexual relationships? We all know plenty of amazing movies about straight relationships. What are you on about ahaha

I laughed like a hyena when I heard his laugh during the movie. I still do. Good God this man is a genius!
I would marry the holy goddamn fuck out of Sheen. He clearly hates this franchise so much and was just trolling everybody. He actually started out doing great work on this character but clearly let it all go with Part II because he realized he could get away with giving the goofiest performance.
He has actually said that he doesn’t understand why people think it’s beneath them, he has stood up for this franchise in several interviews

The sweet voice and unhinged laughter were inspired by the Chief Blue Meanie character in the Beatles "Yellow Submarine." The blue meanie is like a hyperactive very animated Aro. He speaks calmly and sweetly, but unbridled insanity and rage bubble just beneath the surface until it's too much and he bursts into maniacal laughter. The blue meanie's laugh can be heard on YT vids. I love that Michael took inspiration from that character, the Meanie is such a hidden gem.
When my friend first heard aros laugh me and her laughed sooo hard she started crying then she fell off her chair
the laugh he uses just works amazingly. but anyways, it so weird to see him with a mustache and his curly hair.

Haha the laugh scene was hilarious! The cinema was so quiet and you could tell everybody was trying to hold back their own laughs, until I couldn't hold it anymore which caused a sort of chain reaction! Best part.

The ending was i n s a n e. Your minds going to be blown when you watch it. I didn't even know how to react in the theatre, I didn't want people to think I was crazy.

I kept looking at Aro's eyes throughout the movie and thinking that the red contact lenses that Michael had to wear had to be so uncomfortable. Then I find out that his entire visible eyeball was covered by a lens!

When Michael talks about long-loved vamps seeing everything and doing everything. That is the problem with the Volturi. They stay at the castle and going nowhere and doing little outside. THAT is what drove Aro mad.
Aro was afraid of Bella, that's why he recanted his intentions in the book. Edward tells Bella at the end of Breaking Dawn that Aro was "deathly" afraid of her and was worried that, had a battle broken out, his guards powers would have been blocked by Bella and it would have resulted in the death of (very likely) the majority of the Volturi. It was a risk he wasn't willing to take as he didn't want to lose any "power"--if Stephenie Meyer continues, that can be the premise: hunting Bella.
I almost cried at the end because of that twist!!! I really did! I was saying: I'm never going to see this movie again throughout the whole thing!

I'm not gonna be the one to spoil the twist. it was so crazy. I secretly hope they were secretly filming audiences reactions because it would be hilarious to see! I know my own jaw was dropped for at least one full minute and then it just got worse and worse and sadder and too much to handle. I screamed WHAT THE HELL?!? out loud more than once. The whole theatre did. Wow.

When I went, my friends and I absolutely DIED when he laughed. But we were actually wetting ourselves because the people in front of us decided to mimic him REALLY loudly and everyone was just freaking out. :D

When she said "Can you set up the scene?" I thought she was going to say "Can you re-do the laugh for me right here, right now?" hahaha. And I love Michael's explanation of his stupid-ass laugh in the movie. 'Cause I thought it was just unnecessary in the movie. But now I get it.

I shouted that too, and just kind of stared with my mouth wide-open. I thought I was going to be sick lol. It was a good laugh after we found out the truth though. The whole theater was shouting back at the screen during the "battle." Good times.
