You can then sync those exact edits to a group of similar photos. It will apply the masks to all similar images.

How do you sync and do batches of photos? I tried copy an paste sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
@@user-iw9cu7bg9w If you know how to copy and paste develop settings, just make sure that all mask settings you want copied (on the far right when the copy develop settings splash screen pops up) are checked when you paste to a new batch of photos. I believe it doesn’t automatically check the masks checkbox 😊
You could also turn on auto-sync (bottom right corner of develop module when you select multiple images), but this could cause chaos with load-times/workflow and really mess up any photos which are significantly different to the image you’re working on

I love how you talked about how being a perfectionist using these tools can actually hold you back due to the ability to tweak so much so precisely, and therefore just use the Ai features to speed up what you're already doing. I love that advice.

Just did a senior shoot this weekend and WOW! I love how I can mask the background and adjust it without effecting my subject. I would spend hours doing this before and hated it! Thanks for the free brush preset!

I know these AI features are scaring a lot of people (artists in general) But the reality.... It's so amazing and I just imagine all the time saved editing!
Yes! Definitely more of a time saver than a job replacer!
This type of AI is the good type - ones that shorten tedious, uninspiring work like retouching and removing objects. It's the generative stuff that replaces the creative component that humanity needs to be wary of
Amazing if you're a measly photo editor or other lower creative. Scary (you shouldn't be scared, but angry really) if you're a real artist = illustrator. Your whole life has been for nothing
It certainly helps to speed up work flow, however i hope adobe dont start getting even more greedy and start charging us credits to use AI features in lightroom like they are doing with the photoshop shop generative fill 🤬

I have been using this and it makes editing easier.
I've been using the "select background," "select subject," "select object"....but I didn't realize it gave you all those detailed options if you click to select a person. Wow! Could have saved myself some time. Thanks for making this video to point out these options! Will definitely use this in the future!

I've been making great use of the adaptive presets already for travel photos and headshots. I'm not huge on the generative AI stuff, but I can see why people are excited.
Yeah a lot of it is more of a "wow factor" that it's possible. People will find more practical applications as time goes on!

I had LR4 for 10 years, refusing to upgrade. I finally succumbed and I am mindblown how far its come. There is no need for photoshop when editing portraits or weddings, except for the most "extreme" corrections.

It came out in April but we haven't filmed new YT content since it came out! Ty and I both have 3 month olds so we've been busy haha. I need to experiment with the Photoshop Beta features and make a video on that too!
I have a question about LR. I have a friend who is pregnant and wants her tummy to look better. There is a program called Evoto AI that allows you to adjust body composition as a whole or particular body parts, does LR have that without liquifying?
Can this be done on the mobile? Or rather the iPad (tablet) version??????

I have an editor... I edit everything you see on the blog and then my editor does all the rest.

I kind of hate the new Lrc upgrade... i use to out work my competition in the details but this makes it much easier to address more things quickly. And im probably gonna need a new laptop 😂

Thanks for highlighting these new features, looks interesting - which version of Lightroom is this? Is the 'AI' computation happening on your machine locally, or do you need a highspeed internet connection to the Adobe servers? It would be great if you could share your long-term experience, too: How accurate are these automated selection algorithms? How do they work in non-optimal conditions, how often is there a need to correct the AI selections manually? (I can't try myself, since I switched to CaptureOne when Adobe went subscription model only...).
The latest version or LR Classic! It's all local as far as I can tell. I can definitely do a long term update as they continue to make these tools better and better!

anyone else have the Macbook Retina, 13-inch, 2020 I can't use these features since doing the latest lightroom update because it says it has less than 2GB of VRAM. Is there a solution or will I just not be able to use this feature until I upgrade my computer?
Wow, that's super interesting! I hadn't heard of this issue. I'm not sure honestly! Hopefully Adobe can find a fix for that!

You're absolutely right: people are going to go crazy with these things. They always do. I had a client call me out on it once. She posted the pics on Instagram and was like, "My teeth aren't naturally this white!" Oh well.
It'll be an adjustment for some people for sure!
but LR has been able to choose individual people and features for the last few months now. not sure what makes it new? The problem is that it does not show up for everyone b/c of the computer system that is needed, specifically the right video card.
4:37 eye of girl is also selected. It's a bug.
This is why I used camera raw with bridge… might switch now…
Using LR will save you so much time!!

Im just a hobbyist, been watching your youtube vids for years. Lightroom an photoshop has always intimidated me and i have never used an editing program. I did a professional karate tournament shoot for a friend about 3-4 weeks ago and the lighting was plain awful in the building an i decided to get lightroom just for a month to do those photos. Thought all that stuff was normal for it didnt realize it was all new lol

The walls are all yellowish/green half way down, the bottom half dark wood paneling, and dark concrete floor and the dark red stage curtains on one side. And being a karate tournament have bright red and blue mats, (have 4 different rings going at the same time) no natural light at all except through the front doors. And no flash allowed because it would blind the competitors. And the icing on top is florescent lights that flicker and a disco ball on the ceiling 🤣😆
Used both rebel t6, with 70-200 f/4 usm 6400 iso awb and 5dm3 with 85mm f/1.8 usm 3200 iso awb.
Kept it between 1/125 and 1/160
I wonder if it will recognize animals and correct mirror eye in dogs?
Maybe someday! I haven't tested in on animals but I'm sure it's possible!
As a fine artist who sells prints, I use PS and Lr. Lately, I have used Lr more to edit the image size in batches. I have gone back to editing in Lr, because the image sizes are sometimes too large for PS. How can I use Lr for my art? If you want me to send you an image to use for your next video, I would be more than happy. I hate, hate, hate, having to leave Lr and use another app for AI editing, because the size reduces. You may say why not do that first, well I am increasing the image size, and it's 1/3 of the size edited in Remini. I hate that app for editing people, btw. It destroys limbs, they end of looking like gnarly tree limbs. Ok, I hope I get a reply.

It has. My favourite feature is intersecting the masks - like intersecting a person mask with a radial mask to feather off a specific effect while limiting it to that specific person.
In the more recent update, I'm really enjoying using curves in my masks.

This has never worked for me. The Subject, Sky, & Background masks wont work. It just makes a giant box around the subject or tells me it can't find it.

Kate, I've been using this AI tools since last year. They're slow and doesn't work properly on mass edit, yet. I hope soon we can "save" one face and apply those same changes to that single face in every selected picture.
Are you in the beta program? These specific features just came out in April! I'm sure they will refine it as time goes on!
