That damn poison ivy... must have been attracted to that hat you were wearing at the time 😂. That sucks dude, I feel for ya. I have to get a shot when I get in it - which seems to be on a monthly basis even though I have no idea where it is.
I apologize if I wrote in a way that was confusing or upsetting. I felt you were telling new persons, to tell their technician to not spin grind when it may have been necessary. Please allow that experienced person to decide and don't begrudge the price, don't feel you are being hosed when you see the bill that may include both.
Wayne you made a super valid point and it needed to be brought up. I reiterated my stance on relief grinds because so many places only spin or people may choose that since it is cheaper but don’t look into the long term costs. These are not cheap machines so making your dollars count is everything. On another note as soon as it stops raining compost bins are getting built. Thanks for watching and contributing to the discussion. We stop growing when we stop learning.
This is pretty cool to learn more about reel mowers. Good job, Mike.
I'm really glad you didn't have to remove the side piece.
That is a lot of work my friend! Holy moly!
Seeing how much work goes into this does not give me the warm fuzzies about doing a reel replacement on mine...
Again. If you don’t film it then not bad. But you have to film it so.....
Reel Low Dad
You come do mine... and I’ll film you...

What did you use to stop the reel from spinning when trying to break that nut loose holding there reel on?
A scrap piece of oak
FML I can't figure out the best way to get it to wedge and stay put!!!
Where do I find the instructions how to remove axles from Toro flex?
I would check thelawnforum.com and see if anyone has removed theirs.
The torture to watch this without a socket on a ratchet.
