For the first shop you went to the Chinese oden so you know if they would serve the oden in a non spicy broth? Our kids are not too fond of the spicy stuff
Paolo fromTOKYO oh god i am hungry now and i have to stay in a hospital because of a terrible car accident and the food here is soo bad xD glad to have ur food videos :D
Thank you so much for the info. We just got back from Tokyo and I loved the stand with the sake! Two massive oysters and a big cup of sake for 1000 yen! The cheese dogs were a hit with the kids and the takoyaki from the shop you recommended was well worth the line. Can I make a suggestion for a video, hidden luggage lockers in the main Tokyo spots near train stations. Love your videos!
I just noticed whenever you cut from talking on the street vs doing the narration, it's so soothing and engaging for some reason! I think its so cool that I'll have to go back and watch the other videos again. What would be cool but also time consuming is talking to the actual owners of mom and pop shops and getting their stories. I bet they have some cool stories to tell!
You should do a video about foreign food in Tokyo, like tacos, pasta, burgers, pizza, lobster roll... Many people don't know that Japanese people know how to cook everything so well ! Taco tip: Shibuya Mexican Casa de Sarara Sooo good, the chef has been to Mexico to learn about the traditional taco.
One thing that i noticed that i really like about all of those stalls is that they use ACTUAL plates and bowls. No plastic or styrofoam. good and smart choice on their part. Saving money on supplies and also caring about the environment. not sure why all restaurants don't do this..it'll save them thousands of dollars in the long run.
I ordered a takeaway once when we were in Kyushu island in Japan and the bowl of ramen actually came in a proper solid bowl and after I was done with it, I had to leave it outside the front door for the delivery driver to come back to collect.
@@theapplesauc3 Paying a dish washer would still be cheaper than needing to buy plates all the time. especially if you're selling hundreds of plates a day.
We went at Ameyoko in a weekend and the place was JAM PACKED. There are so many tourists and it is difficult to look over at the shops because you will get dragged by the crowd. It is suggested to go on a weekday so that you'll be able to go to the shops and eat the food you want without having to line up for it. 😄
Love love Ameyoko . I just love ueno. We always stay across the market. APA hotel. Sending good vibes from Sydney. Hope to go back to Japan again after the pandemic.
Of course I wanna see more videos like this! It's actually the 5th time I saw this video because you help me after I had nightmares (happens pretty often) ❤ I like the maps you always draw!
We are here as we speak. Both the crab and oysters were good but very small quantity for the price. Oh and there is a 2nd arirang hotdog next to the takoyaki place
Paolo, I love watching you and Maiko eat the different foods. You guys make me want to try them...just not the tripe...I'm not ready for that one. Love your videos. Using them as a guide for our upcoming trip in February! Thanks...
Stumbled into that takoyaki place last year, one of the best I've had, goes especially well with that 9% alcoholic drink that I thought was lemonade 🤣😅
Hey Paulo , love your videos. Please keep making them. In fact I am heading Ueno next week and the first place we will go to will be Ameyoko. Thank for the food stall advice.
Hey Paolo, I'm a big fan from China. Just to provide some context on the Chinese foods you're eating, the Spicy Oden is actually a dish called malatang (麻辣烫): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malatang , basically a spicy hotpot soup base with skewers cooking in it. The soup dumplings are 小笼包 Xiaolongbao, which is basically what they call it over there in Japan. The most famous chain that serves it is Ding Tai Fung from Taiwan. The Yaki Shoronpo is originally called 生煎包 or shengjianbao,a pan fried dumpling thing from Shanghai that has a different, thicker dough than the xiaolongbao. The famous chain to eat it there is called Xiao yang sheng jian.
Interesting Video street food , going to try them all this June , I am bringing 1 yr old + baby going around for street food will it be troublesome ? Need your advice, from Singapore cheers
Thank you for filming the soup dumplings (小籠包/湯包)from Taiwan 🇹🇼 I love it so much but due to the COVID I’m stuck in Norway can’t go back to Asia 😩 it’s great to see some good porn from Asia! Love it!!
Awesome stuff. Going to Japan next month and will try some of your suggestions. The hot dog looks even unhealthier than the deep fried Mars Bars you get where I’m from 😀
Hello Paolo!! Really like your videos since June of this year. Right now i am currently in Japan visiting all Tokyo places you recommended. I hope to see you around!
I went back in October! We went on a Saturday night about two hours before the shops started closing and it was super busy still! Would have rather gone during the week and earlier in the day.
I'm glad to see you again and Paolo, you dressed in the winter season. One of your shirt contains the letters Ja.Then you inspired and wrote Ja-Pan Merch. But your Filipino origin is better than what i thought so.
I'm so happy that I remembered to eat before watching your videos other wise I would have drooled all over my computer. Please keep making videos like these.
Hi paolo!! Love your videos!! I got to choose a bunch of places our family can visit in our march 2019 tokyo trip. Could you make a video about some good family-friendly restaurants too? Like more spacious ones or have wider menus but still yummy. Looking forward to your next videos!!
it's called *Benitsuru* (浅草 紅鶴 | "Red Crane"). it's in *Asakusa* . you have to book a reservation in advance. they don't have a website. they only have *Facebook* : facebook.com/紅鶴-244515396055977/ *Paolo* : th-cam.com/video/30--6JNNn_c/w-d-xo.html

What’s up Paolo! Great videos. Recently went to japan and your videos were a great navigation guide. Bought some merch in support of you. Keep them lit videos coming. How about a livestream one of these day?
Paolo, I have a small suggestion/request: I have to read your videos via the auto-caps and I understand it's a pain to caption a whole video in english buttttt..... .....is there any way you can add a video effect that spells out all the Japanese words of those delicious foods you're trying? The auto-caps definitely don't do justice to another language. Thanks for another great video!!
Yaki sharobao....I think they are called "xiao long bao" in mandarin.....literally translated as small dragon buns....Yaki would mean outer shell is fried instead of the conventionally steamed ones. check out the din tai fung restaurant in shinjuku or tokyo ginza (just to name a few)
Hey Paolo can you make a video explaining the train rails because they are really confusing if I want to travel through the whole country and can you mention some onsen where men and women are allowed togeather because me and my friends are mixed so yea thank you in advance.
I love that market. I could use more lunch buddies when I go there though cause I only had one buddy last time and he'll not be able to go back for awhile due to life events. We got to taste this awesome ramen shop there right off the main market road. It was really good too. Man I need to check those spots out though. I did the cheese on a stick one but at a different spot though. Really good.

kimberly miller no it won’t... I guess they just wash themselves and you definitely don’t have to pay anyone lol
The reason I think ppl don't use real dishes is because they are just too lazy to wash all the dishes
