Hey, in the sixties, in Canada, two gay guys who worked in the same lumber camp, where my hubby and I lived, built themselves a nice cabin and lived like a couple. All the other guys knew they were and did not care. Gays were not persecuted everywhere..most of us were not into snooping who had sex with who and were not interested in worrying about it. That they were persecuted was not known to me until much later when suddenly AIDS happened..WELL ..
