It would be cool if you could re-produce the sounds that tie to different nomenclature so people could connect the dots. WHat do you guys think of the new Zoom H8 spider looking recorder?

Can you guys make a video of those audio terms and let us hear what they sound like? Like a raw recording vs corrected audio?

MrHeng562 in/out phase, compression and all of the stupidly simple ones as well please 😀

At 0:19 how’d you edit out the sound of bumping the microphone with your arm, while talking?

      Level 1: in-camera mic
      Level 10: on-camera mic
Level 100: light wireless mic pack strapped to instructor with headset mic attachment w/medical tape and someone booming a shotgun mic overtop for a second track
Level 1,000,000: all ADR and foley FROM MEMORY

A friend of mine has been doing a yoga show for a little while and the sound is the one thing that is not quite there yet. I have noticed Adriene from Yoga with Adriene uses a wireless lav with the transmitter placed in different places depending on what she's doing.

Tripped up on dBv vs dBu vs dBFS. Also some fun with stereo vs symmetric mono on trs and xlr, but that’s not just a termonology issue :)

I like these kind of videos. My question is what is your go to mic in filming exhibits like the NAMM Show. What kind of mic is capable in handling interviews and loud sound source from the instruments?

    1. Hello Andrew and Team Deity! Could you make an in-depth tutorial about the BP-TRX with some real-life scenario. For example, how you would pair two devices as lav transmitters, two as receivers, two as a pair of outbound and inbound stereo camera hops, possibly even two as IEM… all without any of the devices stepping on each other?
    2. When can we expect the too-good-to-be-true (international version) BP-TRX be available for purchase in Canada? Thanks! - Charles

Andrew what do you think about using a mic like the Bestshoot Camera Microphone Shotgun, Condenser Interview Mic with Windscreen Dead Cat Muff Cover from Amazon Is that a good low budget option or should I be looking for something better than a condenser microphone And using it with thesound recorder like a tascam Dr 40 or a zoom And the purpose of using this Microphone would be TH-cam videos and short films.

I love it how week by week, Andrew is transforming to Jeff Bridges in the "Big Lebowski".
My question is, how come sometines there are "feeback" effects in recorded dialoge audio?(i.e feedback in audio that has been recorded, and sounds like one that is going in an audio loop)

How does a directional mic compare to a system that has multiple mics on different sides of e.g. a camera body that algorithmically creates a directional effect?

If I wanted to get into vloging and my budget is using an iPhone as the camera, what is the kind of mic to use? Not just capture myself but also other people on sets and I am not using audio from my actual bag.

Is it better to have omnidirectional or unidirectional (cardioid) lav mic? And why?

How good are moving blankets compared to actual sound blankets and what to use for budget solutiob, if there is no moving blankets available in your country (no one uses them)

    • @DeityMicrophones
      @DeityMicrophones  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) "Sound blankets" are just super heavy packed moving blankets that also happen to have black on one side and white on the other.
      2) moving blankets are fine but get the heavier weighted ones. Not the super cheap thin ones.
      3) bedding and and blankets!

Question for future mailbag: how would you approach recording a show like Netflix’s “The Floor Is Lava” where bodypacks can hurt contestants if they fall on them, and when they lose they fall in water

Can someone tell me if a mice is a SuperCardioid Shotgun mic (like the Rode ntg5 is according to its specs on the Rode website) mean it's pickup pattern is less directional than a shotgun mic but not as much as a supercardioid please?
