Everything here looks good in videos and photos that’s because they took these early in the morning or during days when it’s holidays. In reality, when you get there, it is packed with people everywhere and the place does not look as good in person.
Wow there are some amazing temples in Chiang Rai. I really love the Blue Temple but the White Temple is incredible. All the details of the hands must have been really interesting to see in person. The museum is definitely a bit creepy but it is totally a place I would visit. The Doi Tung Royal Villa is gorgeous...so many beautiful flowers! 😊
Chiang Ria is awesome. So many interesting beautiful things to see. Enjoyed the views and the pretty flowers and the colorful garden. Like your outfit too 🤩
I really love your video of Chiang Rai. Although I have been there before, you show some places I have never seen. I will put Chiang Rai on the list for my next visit to Thailand.
Very nice video and well done. Good music and interesting description. I like your videos. I am anxious to go back in Thailand .... ready to retire with a property in Samui. For sure I will do like you and travel up to Chiangmai and Chiangrai. Thank you !
Such intricate details and architecture at these temples. I loved the blue colour one 👌 But the white temple had great scenery. Loved your double jean outfit Kendra, and great tip for anyone visiting. The triangle was very neat.
Just got back. This video is so spot on. Visited most of the spots and loved it. White Temple is incredible. But honestly, every Temple you describe is a must see. The landscape from the hills around Chaing Rai is so amazing. Visit Pha Hee. My most favorite place in the mountains off the city.
It's so great to have a friend who's local and happy to show you around. And Chiang Rai looks really interesting, we have not been there whilst in Thailand. Love the Blue temple and also the amazing viewing spots. It's also cool you got to peek at Laos and Myanmar.
Wow! I loved it! I've been to Chiang Mai, but didn't make it to Chiang Rai. Love those colorful temples and countryside - amazing. Your top 9 are wonderfully showcased. Well done, my friend, big like 👍. Thanks for sharing and wish you all the best in the new year 😀.
The views from the top is so nice and the elevator ride is not expensive at all. The White Temple is looking so beautiful, so much details on it. Hahaha it does give some beetlejuice feeling in the museum. 😂
Wow wow wow! That temple looks so absolutely beautiful I think! It's so amazing the effort that goes into it. That museum looked cool but we agree a little freaky! Ah the clock tower show looked so cool 😁 how was the banana roti? Thailand has so much to offer ❤
Plan to end my Thailand journey here when I plan to visit Laos on my travels in 2022 (hopefully COVID has gone by then!) great video guys looks amazing 🤩
Hi David and Kendra, lovely video. We visited in November 2019 and spent two months in Thailand. We spent two weeks in Chang Rai and loved it. All the temples are so beautiful. So glad you were able to visit. Are you there now?
Thank you for sharing your wonderful clip and we intent to visit Chiang Ria in fall. May I ask where we can find a good daily tour person like you had? Much appreciated and wishing you well,
Wow that is a beautiful blue Temple, so much blue! The white temple looked incredibly haunting with all those hands reaching up. Can see how you felt like you were in Beetlejuice in that house😮 I always get caught out with the wrong clothes for the rules in places. I had a tank top on the day we went to the Vatican in Rome🤦🏼♀️ so nice that you got to experience this with a local friend😊
How amazing that your former neighbour was your tour guide! The white temple looks really beautiful. You mentioned you had a banana roti while watching the clock tower show, I’ve never heard of that, is it good?
A nice video of some of Chiang Rai's best features. I am surprised, however, that your Thai friend missed Wat Sang Kaew Phothiyan, off the 118 at Mae Suai. It was built by a Thai called the Engineer Monk, who also headed the construction of the road up to Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. The temple just keeps on growing and growing, it is currently crowned by three giant golden Buddhas. Much bigger than the White and Blue temples, has Thai, Chinese, Burmese and Indian influences.
@@LucasWorldTravel Going from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai on the 118, from memory it's about 5km past the Doi Chang coffee shop, on the RHS. There's a very plump lady Buddha on a square pillar, well signposted. Winds its way through a fairly narrow soi up to the top of the hill, a big car park.
For us, our hotel was $30 a night for 3 nights. Car rental $30 a day. $12 gas. Budget $6-$10 per meal out. Budget $2-$3 per temple. The Royal villa was a bit expensive around $10-15 to see all the separate attractions.
We rented a car, but since we had a friend in the area, she drown us around. I’m sure Grab/Bolt is also available but the distances are quite far which is why renting a car is probably your best bet.
Thanks for watching our journey to Chiang Rai! Please also subscribe to see even more journeys through Thailand and through the world. Kind regards!
I lived there for 8 years and plan to go back sometime. Miss those people and the views.
Wow 8 years is impressive! Thailand is a place that just keeps calling you back!
I’m Thai and still I found your videos that had gave me some ideas before traveling to Chiang Rai fir the first time, love how you presented it.
Thanks great to hear! Hope you enjoy your trip to Chiang Rai!

Fair. This was shot during COVID times so there were almost no tourists.

Yes, I might have said Beetlejuice more than 3 times while I was there and brought him back. We'll see! 😂
Very nice vibe and pacing.
Thanks so much Kevin! We appreciate the kind comment!
last time, we were there was like 3 years ago. Thanks for sharing

Hi David and Kendra, lovely video. We visited in November 2019 and spent two months in Thailand. We spent two weeks in Chang Rai and loved it. All the temples are so beautiful. So glad you were able to visit. Are you there now?
Yes we live in Krabi, Thailand currently and were just in Chiang Rai for a few days. Thanks for watching guys!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful clip and we intent to visit Chiang Ria in fall. May I ask where we can find a good daily tour person like you had? Much appreciated and wishing you well,
We had a friend who showed us around so unfortunately I don’t know any official local tour guides. Hope you enjoy Chiang Rai though!
Wow that is a beautiful blue Temple, so much blue! The white temple looked incredibly haunting with all those hands reaching up. Yes, it was a great experience heighten by the fact we got to share it with a friend. Thanks for watching guys!
There is a Hall of Opium around the golden triangle area that I really enjoy, too bad I was rushing against time!
We actually went to that just not on this trip. It was very informative!
How amazing that your former neighbour was your tour guide! The white temple looks really beautiful. You mentioned you had a banana roti while watching the clock tower show, I’ve never heard of that, is it good?
Yes, it very good! It's like a crepe or a pancake. Very sweet with syrup and naturally bananas or any topping of your choice. Definitely worth a try!
You have an interesting channel, I would like to subscribe to it. Glad to have met you. See you soon
Thanks so much Oliver and welcome to the channel! We hope you enjoy all the adventures we have to share!
Going there this March
Nice! Enjoy!

Interesting! We’ve never heard of that temple before but would love to check it out next time we are in Chiang Rai.

I would love to see the white temple. It reminds me of lion king and the bone graveyard a bit, if they were all pretty white 🙂
Wow, interesting analogy! I would have never thought about it like that before.
There is a lot more than temples in Chiang Rai
My home city.
Hi Lucas, hope you are doing amazing, how much is the budget for a travel for this?
For us, our hotel was $30 a night for 3 nights. Car rental $30 a day. $12 gas. Budget $6-$10 per meal out. Budget $2-$3 per temple. The Royal villa was a bit expensive around $10-15 to see all the separate attractions.
How did you go around Chiang Rai? Im curious if thw major sites are reachable by Grab/Bolt instead of hiring a private car/tour. Thanks!
We rented a car, but since we had a friend in the area, she drown us around. I’m sure Grab/Bolt is also available but the distances are quite far which is why renting a car is probably your best bet.
Chiang Rai Welcome
where would one stay in Chiang Rai? recommendations please, anyone
TIA
We stayed at the Imperial River House and liked it.
We stayed at the Imperial River House and liked it.
How far are the Thai caves from there
I’m not sure. I don’t know which tea caves you mean.
Hi, did ypu use any travel agent. If yes please send me the details
No, we organized everything ourselves and can recommend doing that if you have time to plan.
How do you deal with carrying money? Do you have to withdraw and keep a lot of cash in your home &. on yourselves? Thanks
There are plentiful ATMs everywhere in Thailand. And we have a card that refunds all fees so it’s free for us to withdraw money.
My neighbor just moved their.
Nice! You should go visit! It's a good excuse!
