Jansen should have a statue put up. Every Celtic fan owes him the biggest debt of gratitude ever. We'd never have heard the end of it from Castle Greyskull. Plus he signed Parkheads arguably greatest player
jansen is a legend and that team really never got the credit for winning the title. they pressure they were under week in and week out must have been difficult for them, failure wasnt an option as rangers winning 10 in a row would have been a nightmare for any celtic fan.
My only season ticket for Celtic was this year and what a year! Harold Brattback - your gonna bring the good times back back. He was a questionable signing but he got us over the line on the last day - and of course who can forget Henrik and Lubo. A beautiful day. A beautiful year.
What we expect of a true Ranger, he didn’t offer any excuses and was gracious in defeat. Privately I’m sure Gough and others were kicking themselves at the opportunity missed. Certainly amongst Gers supporters Rangers head to head with our rival that season was the better of the two teams but they dropped silly points to the likes of Kilmarnock and Dunfermline and it cost them in the end.
Fergus mccann said he'd build a stadium a title winning team and leave with his profit he was straight with the fans from the start and Wim Jansen will always be the man who stopped 10 in a row both celtic hero's H. H. 🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪🍀
McCann was the celtic saviour no doubt.. But he was strictly a business man also.. Legend no doubt, but his departure was what celtic needed long term. They should rename the North stand the Fergus McCann stand in my opinion. McCann will be a legend in Celtics story down the line... Jansen unfortunately won't.
Loved and appreciated Wim's achievement in signing Larsson and stopping 10. The 'official' reason Celtic gave for his departure is nonsense, the real reason is he didn't get on with Jock Brown. Grateful to McCann for what he did for Celtic but i feel he didn't support Jansen enough. And so it proved, another two years of turmoil until the arrival of O'Neill in 2000.
Absolute nonsense comment from McGlone. Should be grateful that Jansen actually got us over the line in the end unlike any of his predecessors the previous 9 years. Then again he was writing for the official club publication at the time so maybe was inclined to toe the party line.
Wim was 100% right about being more focused in the short term. His job when he came to the club was to win the league and stop Rangers winning their 10th title in a row. You can't expect to make a long term plan in those circumstances. The club suffered for 2 years after he left until we brought in Martin O'Neill.
Big mistake by Celtic...... Janssen was highly regarded by Johan Cruijff for his football knowledge and he proved it, and some pencilpushers like Fergus McCann should understand that they should not intervere in football matters they should just manage clubmatters. They obvious do not understand how you create a good football team
Richard ter Veen Wim wanted to stir the pot by asking fergus to resign big pierre and that wasn't going to happen. hence the reason wim jansen spat the dummy out
Utter rubbish. Jansen never committed to the second year, refused to sign a contract and wouldn't even give details of what players he wanted to sign. He got lucky against an ageing Rangers team, losing most of the Old Firm games and we stumbled over the line almost throwing it away twice. The fact he's never had a significant job since tells its own story.
From a Rangers fan, RIP Wim Jansen. Some great memories that season, was a battle that he and his team deservedly won.
That was brilliant. Brings back so many mixed emotions and memories. 🍀💚🍀
RIP Wim, you'll never be forgetten for what you've done for our club.

God bless Wim, gone but never forgotten 🫶

gracious and dignified from Rangers captain in the direct aftermath of missing 10 iar.... noted

Wim Jansen a hero in Rotterdam and for Celtic
Thanks for the memories Wim. Rest in peace 💚🍀
John Colquhoun, you broke my heart for many a game...the thorn in Celtics side
The start of the end for our poor rivals
Rest in Paradise, Wim. Hail hail.

Fair point there 👌

R.i.p the legend 🍀👑

❤🤍🖤 † Rip Wim Jansen † ❤🤍🖤
RIP
Look at the moronic celtic fans take on mccann at the time. They're calling for a statue now no doubt
McCann fucked up by not keeping Wim. He was an egotist, I know having had dealings with him.

No Celtic were deserving winners that season and stoped the 10 cry some more 😭😭😭
@@wewouldneversellourclubfor3166 who's crying? Just not standing by and watching bams try and denigrate Fergus McCann ya muppet.
McCann is a complete legend but for him we would be in rangers position. Instead of the glorious position we are in 18 titles in 26 years. HH
