The concerning thing is that they could have hacked parent emails compared to normal game accounts. Imagine your email getting hacked, someone on internet using your name, knowing your address, knowing your personal info. They gotta worry more about partnering with a special cyber police group or something to avoid this kind of things happening. If emails get hacked, this could result in the HQ getting sued over this sort of thing. Its good that they took action right now tho
Yeahhhh I couldn't change my password for the longest time. When I did, my rarest items were taken, my beloved gray double tail as well. I'm still really mad about it but I'll work for winning them back! This hurt a lot of Jammers, however let's bounce back and continue on! Even if others lost items, we can always get them back.
yep, same story. i had some 2012 leap year items taken. i don't care so much about the items, but how aj responded to my email once i realized what happened. ajhq searched my account on the day i sent the email and basically told me that the items didn't CURRENTLY exist in my inventory (something i was already aware of). again, it's not about the items for me; it's about the lackluster customer service + care for the normal jammers in their fanbase.

Honestly, what kinda angers me is how info was just sitting in a dm, like an open minefield... I get that the team probably didn't think they would get ANY of their accounts hacked (as in, the admins/moderators or whoever worked there with the info) but still, it just makes me *slightly* makes me feel like the info was there for how ever long, kinda like a ticking time bomb. Wait if they cracked the hashes in the passwords, I have a feeling this is the reason why I was hacked 2 weeks in a row- But on another note why would animal jam put the key to animal jam’s data for the game and stuff and leave it sitting in a group chat, that’s a problem. I also got hacked in the data breach because my actual gmail was one of my spare accounts and I didn’t know until I went on a website to see if I got hacked or not, so the fact that animal jam left the key that caused the breach makes me a little upset.

I literally left the game for 2 years after this because I just felt like all the years I spent collecting everything was for nothing. They even deleted a few of my animals.

Of course if you are a memeber and got that membership via credit card or gift card, you could in theory give it to AJHQ and they could then give you the account back.

Not sure if it’s a hack or glitch but everyone could see the wolf and the duplicate of them. It was extremely weird as I’ve never seen this on mobile animal jam.

Mobile play wild needs membership too now. Both games have membership issues with no new items coming out for nonmembers- on mobile the only difference is that once you have membership one time you can constantly buy it every month by selling items. It still plays better with membership. Animal jam is not boring on pc they have been bringing out loads of updates now that employees came back from working on feral. New items come out all the time. And there are items in the shop that belong to jammers Shutting down one of the games is a stupid idea in general why would you shut it down and not just idk Oh yeah Not play it The breach was for both games-

They send a email asking for last login location and first location of created account. This was real since I managed to get my account back and same for a few friends.

If you haven't already, try sending Animal Jam a support ticket and they may be able to recover some of your items for you.
