I’ve been to a place where commiting suicide was a possibility but now my brain is so completely rewired I can’t even relate to that old self. All I’m saying is if you are in a dark place there is definitely light ahead, the darkness is temporary

Exactly. These kinds of jokes from stand up comedians actually helped me when I was feeling suicidal. Having someone acknowledge it as real and allowing you to laugh at it as well can be very cathartic.

If not that perhaps some person at your job will see how suicides affect those around them leading to reconsideration, same goes for all loved ones. With that logic, you could argue that war and plague is good for society because it promotes unity and motivates people to rebuild. Sure, people take note of suicides to some degree at least, but martyrdom is only noble to fantasists.

This is my first time watching you guys and I just have to say ya'll are so darn sweet and I love ya'll. "We're all here for a reason. Find your reason." I've only watched one other reaction to this bit, and it did feel...odd. But I wasn't really sure why until you said that. It's because, when I first watched this back in 2017, I was So Blown Away by it. He OPENED with this for crying out loud! And I was shocked but captivated. Delighted and horrified. And I thought it was one of the greatest stand-up bits...probably of all time--just insanely genius. But that's just me! I was watching it alone in my living room. And there were like maybe 3 people i wanted to show it to because I knew they could handle it and I wanted to see what they thought. I wasn't sure about anybody else, so I didn't even think about it with them. So, I ended up showing it to two people five years ago, and today I thought it would be interesting to see what other people thought about one of my favorite, most brilliantly horrific stand-up bits. And when you said that, I realized I hadn't actually thought about all the other people watching it. I mean, I'm sure I did back in 2017, but I hadn't watched it since like 2018. So, anyway, ya'll are super sweet, and I LOVE that ya'll stopped playback to offer that compassionate message to your viewers. That was a Heart and Soul move right there, and nothing makes me happier than to witness that--not even this bit. 😉💗 It's not even close, actually.
