@cussininthekitchen8224 ah thanks for this! I actually tried a couple different methods. White plastic keys on a child's piano, and nothing has worked yet. I think its time to paint them or do some vinyl wrap. But we'll see how it goes

Looks much better!! Thanks for the tip. If you order new ones i bet they won't be the quality of the old ones. Probably crack and get yellow really quick.
Thank you for this! I have not seen 1 video with this trick. Only yours! I know this will come as a great help in my future bag of tricks. Got some yellowing vinyl that cannot be replaced or painted I might use your trick on soon
The cup holders on the bridge of my 48 Motor Yacht all turned yellow. Instead of wasting time trying to clean them I threw them away and bought some new Stainless ones that really look updated...and they were only $5 each. My speakers never did turn yellow still bright white.
Ive taken my door bell speaker of my hall way wall and heating switch,Ive left the plasic parts in the sink in hot soapy water,They come up very white again,Now leaving all the plastic parts to fully dry out,They look much better when I put them all back on my hallway wall
Thanks dude... Have a statue white base that yellow pair. Is finding out peroxide is kind of the way to go probably... And your video shone a creamed proxide from the salon.. It will work better Then just a liquid. I'll give it a try.
Q: I need to do this to the (unremovable) plastic rub rail that goes around the circumference of my small boat. No way to put the rub rail in a clear sealable bag. Will your method work if I taped saran wrap to the boat, as a way of covering the rub rail after I coat it with the Salon Care 40? It will be impossible to get an air tight covering. Is that essential for your method to work? I am guessing that it is, so that there is no evaporation of the H2O2 while in the sunlight. Your thoughts?
Developer 🤣 “40 volume developer” if anyone needs to describe this to their wife to pick up. Brilliant btw, I’m about to do my tub jets and the air vent covers in the bathroom. Following with wax.
Prefer the center screen painted white. Before the bleaching, you might try to clean the cups with Krud Kutter to remove the grime. It may help the Salon Care 40 to work better. The screeching music detracted from your video. Cute kids!
Trying to find solution everywhere for my powcan tumbler handle. Plastic + silicone maybe. Just bought 2 mths. Notice yellow stains on d white grey handle prob from my dirty hands. Bicarb paste no. Bleach no. Vinegar no. Dont know what to try..
It will get some of the dingy haze off the plastic but you have to be very careful. If you let the peroxide sit too long on colored plastic it end up bleached out and blotchy. You have keep checking it and know when to say when. It will never be perfect. Ask me how I know.
I was thinking the same thing. Even with life vests on, one bump could throw them right in front of that boat or even onto an oncoming boat. I would never let them sit that close to the bow at that speed.
Boats just like campers are one of the worst investments and most people don't keep them up. Mostly they are left outside uncovered and always in all harsh elements..it's horrible all the wasted money in these items that get ruin damaged or trashed every year. I'm a cosmetologist...Peroxide oxidizes within an hour usually...reapply more often for faster & better results.
Does it have to go in the sun? Or could you do a heat lamp? I'm assuming it's the heat

Sunshine works well with yellowing plastic !
I tried it and I can see the yellowing is being removed !

Isn't a boat exposed to sun? What do you mean the sun????
@@FIXDPHONESwhat is the tip about the sun that the commenter said??? Isn't the boat already exposed to sun??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Problem with this process is that as soon as the plastic is bleached it will rapidly begin to yellow again. It's better to paint the plastic.
If this doesn’t end up working for you. Which it usually does, spray paint with white Rustoleum for plastic. Looks like new.
I liked the metal showing (unless it rusts in future). Nice work!
Peroxide and UV lights have been standard to bleach out the yellowing I’ve seen on game console cleaning videos
Can't use bottle peroxide from the pharmacy. It's only 3%. Get Salon Care 50 or 40.

Can I use this on LEGO bricks?
Magic Eraser will get the rest of those dirt stains off with ease.

Could you use this to whiten but would it affect say a second colour like red
Ohhh so peroxide. Good to read it in comments cause salon 40 or whatever the damn name won't do to everyone. 😅
Put the cups in the dish washer. Medium heat
Uv light is helpful too
I think making a video of you putting Salon care 40 all over your boat and cleaning it with a pressure washer would be a good video. (hint, hint).
Not a bad idea lol
I have to clean the clear domes on my pool solar heaters that yellow after a few years. So here goes
Ty nice idea! Beautiful lake btw, where is it? (Your kids are having a blast, love it😊)
That’s Utah lake.
Anyone have suggestions for Plantation shutters poly wood that has yellowed.
Paint them white every 3 yrs ,Done!
bleach does whiten but makes plastics very brittle

Try Spray Nine. You could also try Awesome Cleaner from the Dollar Tree store.

What is “Salon Care 40”?
Witche's hair tint
@@guitarslim56 I thought it was a hair care product with 40% hydrogen peroxide, but @danfoley2442 clarified below, it's 12% hydrogen peroxide.
Salon Care 40 = H202 = hydrogen peroxide solution.
@@JamynShanleyNo, "40 volume" translates to 12% concentration of H2O2.

so what is the active ingredient?
Hydrogen peroxide. Paste (hair product version) is more concentrated than typical 3% for wounds one.

Has it yellowed since?
a little, The plastic will still be prone to yellow and will probably get back there eventually but at least for a while its brighter.
Without paint.
CIF would work much better, U will have to scrub it, but it will be new.. always test in small are before

how can I make plastic yellow and dinghy?
leave it in the sun for a couple years it might take a while but it will become yellow
