And FYI, though they are the “new native” parrot around here, Arizona actually has a true NATIVE parrot - the Thick-Billed Parrot (beautiful, medium-sized macaw), but they are either rare as can be now in AZ or altogether gone now, sadly (there might be a few left in AZ, staying away from humans). They can still be found south of the border in Mexico, though. “The More You Know!” :)

That means, of course, that parrot-fu is not a sporting martial art. Parrot aims only to kill or severely cripple other parrot. Severing toes on a perching bird is a life-changing injury, and all parrots have very strong beaks. I guess ancestral mating competition was pretty brutal for the Mother Parrots to instill such devastating attacks into the psittacine collective genetic memory (instinct), all the way down the line to even these types of tiny sweet borbs. *_NOW SHADDUP AND GIMME DEM TOES!_*

I have two. One is just like the Peach Face ones in the video and the other is a Blue Masked. They have separate cages in different rooms I've had them for 7 months. The Peach Face is a lot tamer, lands on my shoulder and head and nibbles at my ears, mouth and neck but still will not let me touch her and sometimes steps up. The other one is more standoffish and can be aggressive when he's in his tent. He will not step up so when I want to put him back in his cage I have to slowly cup my hands over him and pick him up and then put him in his cage. If Had known they were so hard to tame, I would have gotten Cockatiels like I had 25 years ago.
My birds also love my two cats. They are both declawed (I didn't do it) but having birds now I amglad its done. I have the birds out a lot and I have to supervise 100percent then they are all out together. It's all pretty cute. I just love the all.
