I belive loldest known unit is still existant Spanish Regimiento de Infantería Inmemorial del Rey no. 1 established in 1248. Yeah, but Quinta Macedonica is close second. I depends if it was destroyed in entirety during muslim invasion of Egypt or was that only vexillatio and the legion continued under Eastern Roman empire under different name.
