I really like your ability to explain almost 25 years worth of content in a clear, concise and easily digestible way. Before I found this channel, I was pretty sure I'd never read One Piece, a sentiment I'm sure plenty of others share due to how daunting the number of chapters is, but watching your videos got me so interested and invested that I couldn't help but start reading and trying to catch up. Thanks to you One Piece is quickly becoming one of my favorite series, and I wouldn't have ever given it a second thought otherwise. Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see more!
I found the channel a while back, and the videos got me interested. I started watching the anime and got up to Dressrosa, but with everything that's gone on since then I decided to start reading so that I can catch up and enjoy it in real time
You watch recaps to spark interest and prepare for new season I watch recaps to know storyline to not be out of pop culture and talk to strangers about it online we're not the same.
it is absolutely insane that in 20 long years our little rubber monkey has became a sun god emperor. you cant make up the amazing road this series has came through!
I know this is an old video and I'm late to the party but yeah I totally agree LMAO the part about the nobles committing all of terrible crimes and then adding at the end plus assorted crimes against fashion had me literally dying laughing 😂
Thank you for putting this together! As much as I’d love for the whole world to be nakama, there’s just so much One Piece, it’s hard for the average person to dedicate that much time to a series. This is a well placed olive branch for the uninitiated. Again, many thanks!
Such a good recap! Awesome vid! The other day I was telling to my uncle (that has my age) that One Piece is not a story of Pirates only, is a story about mysteries, dethroning dictators, freeing people, unveiling ancient history, samurais, santoryu and enjoying the journey. So I told him to give it a chance, that when he is more immersed in the story he will wish it had more chapters. I'm happy to be part of this generation that is enjoying one of the best stories ever told.
I'm actually impressed at 15 min I was like oh snap is there gonna be a part 2 but you definitely jammed the rest in 2 min like overpacking a suitcase before going on a trip. Truly inspiring!
Thanks a lot for a updated version of this and right before the Final Saga really gets ramping up with all kinds of the best lore, fights and pure OP greatness
One Piece is such a treasure, there’s so much to love about this and while it has faults, it just becomes so minuscule when you’re reminded about everything that happens in this series
Thank you so much for practily summing up the last 20 years of my life with one piece in only 17 mins. It puts it in prospective what all we watched over the decades and it is also a great primer for anyone that always wanted to get into one piece but said it's simply too long to try now. I have a few friends that I forced to watch your video who said that very thing and it made them start reading the Manga post Wano now.
I think it's insane that this has been going on for 20 years and he's still only has three of the four 😂 I'm all for taking your time telling stories and it being about the journey and the character growth, but I feel like he just dragged this out because it became so successful LMAO
I believe that the treasure Joyboy left behind is just the tale of his life, the tale of Joyboy, which made Roger laughed so he named the island Laughtale and that's why he also wished to live in Joyboy's era because he read what it was like. Now, the treasure "the tale of joyboy" is called "one piece" by the people, so basically they gave the story a title. The series we're reading is called "one piece", the story is about Luffy, the current joyboy, so techincally the series is still "the tale of joyboy" just season 2.
That can't be true. Because oda has confirmed in an interview that the one piece is a physical object not just some "it was the friends me made along the way" type of bs.
I'm not sure that a book or some story would be that physical object and it would obviously get tons of backlash. It also doesn't explain a lot of stuff like the egg on Rogers ship
When you think about it, it just makes sense that the series is as long as it is. We're literally following the journey of a nameless kid who's becoming the most important figure on the planet And he's even achieving his goals quite quickly, as it took him only 19 years to become an emperor, barely more than half the time compared the previous youngest emperor shanks at 37 (pre ts) Go rubber boi !!!
In canon time it took Luffy 2 years after becoming a pirate to become an emperor which is ridiculous compared to other emperors when you think about it.
Great video! It's crazy how much the story has been evolving this 25 years! But not showing brook during the big mom poneglyphs segment was a crime lol
Greetings Grand Fleet. I got into one piece for the first time about 2 to 3 years ago. I'm finally at Fishman Island and I'm loving the series so far. Thanks for all the great work that you've put into all these videos. And much love to the rest of my brothers and sisters out there in the fleet.
I have an observation about Conqueror's Haki. Like many, I believed it was an ability that one must be born with, but when Zoro was fighting fighting King and he accidentally uses Conqueror's Haki to knockout some random's, King notices, looks at Zoro and asks "So, you too want to be a king?". Later Zoro said something about becoming the King of Hell or whatever, which makes me think of Rayleigh's title that almost everyone calls him by: The King of Darkness. Maybe he got a realization moment during his journey, much like Zoro, that he had to be a King as well. I think that Conqueror's Haki is something that one can develop if they really have the real intent to be the best at something. After all, the Pirate King is just a Pirate that is better than the others.
Thank you for converting more and more nakamas. I'm a fan and I know this isn't for anyone so I'm lazy to explain but people like you who put in the work should be thanked greatly.
One of the greatest summaries ever. I thought I would never watch the anime because of how long it is and at first I only watched this just to know what one piece is about but now I am very interested and am going to start watching. Seems like ill really like this amazing anime.
no prone as in laying completely still, they cannot move and are physically stuck when they are submerged in water. Basically feeling like they're cemented in their bodies.
Your artists have outdone themselves once again, amazing video everyone involved, sent it to my friend and he's gonna try tackle the beast that is One Piece now
"Bend over and take the throbbing stick of justice." This is the best quote of the year. I cannot stop laughing. I'm driving my truck, delivering mail, and laughing like a madman. All the while people driving next to me/people outside are looking at me like I'm crazy. "WTF is wrong with the mail man? Is he okay? Did he finally snap? Is he going to go postal on us?" Thank you for brightening an otherwise bleak day my good sir 🤣
3:40 Not sure if it was a retcon on Oda's part, but I remember the newspapers calling Roger the Pirate King before he discovered Laugh Tale in a flashback.
I think you're just misremembering, as it's always been stated that he was called the Pirate King after he conquered the sea. (Which would be after his final voyage was over and the One Piece was found.) And then the actual flashback of his voyage shows again that it was after he found the One Piece.
Wow I can't imagine how much structuring and restructuring Liam had to do to make this video flow as well as it does. Especially considering what he's trying to cover!!
i dont know how to feel now, you've done such a good job cramming every minute of this video with information but still managed to miss whole world changing arcs, really makes ya think of the scale of our cute little pirate comic
I love the funimation version of Roger's last words "you want my treasure, you can have it, I left everything I gathered together in one place, now you just have to find it"
I laugh when people call out one piece for it's length when the length of the journey is one of it's biggest strength The latest reveals wouldn't have hit as much if it wasn't for the years of build up, and the one piece reveal will prove that even more
