I mean they kept on arguing in front Xie Lan and yet it still didn't pop on my mind that it was actualy them😭 You can tell that they still deeply care for Xie Lan and couldn't properly show it since they are now Gods who have thousands of worshipers and have to keep their pride and dignity in front of the others. They parted very badly, Xie Lan was in his lowest point and couldn't take his banishment so out of anger, he made them leave without proper farewell. Mu Qing coming back after asking for permission to part ways with them yet Xie Lan couldn't accept his return because of what happened in the Mountains. Feng Xin was also yelled by Xie Lian to leave because the poor prince believed that Feng Xin actually thinks that he robbed someone on his first robbing attempt. After those painful goodbyes we see the King and the Queen hanging themselves because they felt they were a burden to their son. Xie Lian didn't even talk to his father properly and believed that his father was disappointed to him as a son. Book 4 made my heart break into pieces😭💔.
