I built multiple of these, all with different controls, then built a small warehouse with vans, I then put all the spy bots in boxes that can pop open easily. If I see anyone with a base that's heavily defended, I just deliver them a package, as soon as they turn away, I send my spy bot into their base, I usually put 2 in a box, incase 1 gets found
I snuck this into a giant defended building someone made, they had like a turret on top, and armour for their walls, I managed to sneak in and see everything and they were so confused when I said I was inside and they just kept looking around- xD

Must be something to do with the config, check if your control surfaces and conveyor have the correct keybinds.
