I still remember these episodes of state of trance before TH-cam become the gaint of social media ( Nokia phones era ) Paul van dyke, Paul oknfold ,mark Scholz ,above and beyond, ferry corsten , all of these guys were brighten stars hard to reach

Listening to this really brings me back. Armin doesn't play anything like this anymore. I'm glad I got to experience it.
I was actually too young to know about trance in 2006. I don't think I even had internet. I discovered it much later 2010 and GAWD.... The way that the sound evolved in just a couple of years... Now is more about... "sadness"> I don't know if it's the right word, but now, when I'm listening to these old episodes of ASOT I can only think at the joy of life. It's just way too commercial now....
I thought the same thing as you, actually the music is only commerical and perpetual.. I don't know why but my emotions feel uplifted with older trance tracks.. I love think about past years and younger emotions.. This is the real music!
i started in 2006...and was killed in like 2009 already. imagine that. still living in the damn broken relationship with trance. nowadays listening to classic trance only though...
I learnt about trance when I was a kid. Going to Disney land if had three songs on my MP3 player. Free falling. Lost angles breakfast mix, and faces - Ashley wallbridge, I was like 13 or 14.

+realfan91 Yeap, from 2009-2010 it went downhill very quickly. Right now it is so hard to find anything good in this flood of garbage tunes.

Nah , I think Carabella should be in Top 1 , Arisen on Top 2. These 2 mixed masterpieces sound very good. But Arisen , sadly is only Top 5 and Carabella even not included in Top 20 and they're very underrated.

+Ned Beasley I was scoffed at for my music choices in 2003/2004. Not so many years ago, I showed them how popular these tracks and artists are throughout the world and how cool the people who follow it are.
I dunno where you guys live, but in 2002 Listening to trance was common. it is scoffed at now.
