IDENTITY DOCUMENT ROLLOUT - The Ministry of Home Affairs,Immigration, Safety & Security (MHAISS) has ended it's five days ID duplicate rollout. The rollout started on Monday 13 March 2023 at Nakabolelwa, it further covered Ngoma,Ioma,,Mutikitila, and ended at Ibbu in the Zambezi region today on 17 March 2023.
Speaking during the final rollout at Ibbu, the ministry's Chief Administration Officer Re-Loux Tapelo pointed out that the rollout targeted inhabitants allong the Chobe river and enable them to be able to travel to Botswana without a passport, rather with the new identity document.
This follows last month's signing of MoU between Namibia and Botswana to access border cross with only IDs.
