I have had the KBS graphite shafts in a previous iron set and really liked them. Since watching this series with Dave I have added a 5 Hybrid to my set up and really like it. I have a bit more swing speed so I need to be careful, sometimes these clubs can go an extra 10 yards if you catch them flush but the misses are money ! Dave taking selfies with his fans !
I have a set of 2-PW hybrids from Lazrus, great clubs and the wedges are top notch too. I also have my set of Callaway X20 irons, mostly play the odds with a 9 & PW, then traditional wages.
I could definitely game a full set of hybrids when I get older😉 I’m not a very slow swingspeed player (80 mph with 7 iron), but i have replaced my 6 iron with a 6 hybrid. I can hit a 6 iron, but the hybrid just performs better. Less dispersion, more forgiving, longer carry, more stopping power… Hybrids/hybrid irons are not just for slow swingspeed players who can’t launch the ball.
I play these Eleven hybrids and contrary to what you said in this video, these hybrids do hold greens and do not roll out. Most of my shots stop where they hit the green with no mote than 3 feet from the pitch mark or divot.
I think Dave is very pleased! I have a set of Lazrus hybrids 4-PW, I got cheap. They are actually really good sounding and feeling! They aren’t my regular gamers. My gamers are PXG 0211xcor2 GW-6 with four Cleveland hybrids 2-5. Thanks Chris and Dave!
It’s not true to say they are for golfers that can’t get the ball in the air, they are for every grade of golfer. They just make the game easier, more consistent with great dispersion. I have a pal who is an ex pro, loves them, I’ve played off single figures for 50 years, swear by them. We have ours configured with stiff KBS shafts, long, straight and so forgiving, who wouldn’t use them. They are also very flexible, easy to work the ball, great knockdown shots, fantastic around the green, superb out of difficult lies including rough, heather and bare lies. Of course, they are also great value, sold my old clubs for more than I paid for the Elevens!!!!
I have tendonitis in my left thumb and forearm so I have to wear a brace that immobilizes the thumb, thus not allowing me to cock the wrist at the top of the swing. I can swing a club, but have to swing with a very shallow angle of attack because the thumb has to be on the side of the grip rather than underneath (think of it like hitting a flop shot with every club). I found that I could hit my hybrids using that method but couldn't hit the irons at all because of the lack of bounce in my Ping G430 irons. That is when I saw James' review on these clubs. So, rather than not play golf for the rest of the summer, I ordered the 7-PW (I already have Ping G425 3 thru 6 hybrids). I got them last week and made 4 birdies with them. They don't go very far, but they are pretty damn straight - especially with my brace on). I can't say I will keep hitting them when the brace is off, but if I continue to make birdies with them, I may just stick with them!!!
I am seriously thinking about ordering these clubs....i like hitting hybrids so these might suit me perfectly....i am a 7 handicap at 58 years old...alot of arthritis...so these would make the game sustainable for me i think..
I know you and James like those Eleven clubs but Wilson, Cobra, Cleveland, PXG and McGregor all make hybrid irons, full sets all the way down to pitching wedge, so maybe you guys should do some comparisons and I personally think Cleveland and Cobra would do a lot better than the Elevens
Didnt Slazenger create a hybrid set about 10 years ago? Nothing came of them, but i dont think that they got the coverage back then that they would now.

Pinhawk makes an awesome set of single length all hybrid irons. I will NEVER go back to standard irons.
