Well I don't know if that was WG criteria to sort them but it hapend that all defensive skills are towards right side and more offensive tends to be on the left.
Excellent! Been waiting for this guide. I didn't realise that there was a "defensive" and "offensive" side to the skill map. Seems obvious now (facepalm) I've been looking at the "strengths" of the basic ship, and boosting them with the captain points. If the ship is basically "tanky" with decent secondaries stock, I'll boost those areas, DD's will always get "last stand", then as offensive skills try to boost the guns or torps (depending on the basic stats it has). I'm going to have to take another look at some of these now. Best captain I have is 12 points, so shouldn't cost too much to "re-spec". The idea of starting defensive to last longer each battle makes a lot of sense. I also found that if you get a "freemium" from a crate etc, or buy a premium with coal/steel/doubloons, then that ship can swap a captain with another, non-premium ship with no cost after the first "re-training". Using one captain to run 2 ships can get through the captain skills grind a bit quicker. Thanks for the videos, I really appreciate them and the effort you take to produce them.
About cruiser captain skills: Superintendent usually a not good pick as a beginner. I would only consider it as my first tir 3 skill if you have a heal or some kind of smoke. Both of which is rare under tir 8. Adrenaline Rush on the other hand is strong in all in the game. As for Concealment Expert on battleships. This does not matter match for beginner and low tier. It is strong but if you know how to use it. Fire Prevention Expert on the other had way better for beginners and strong with experts. Having a maximum of 3 instead of 4 fires plus lower fire chance is huge. Especially in low tier were HE spam is even more of an issue as in high tier. As for destroyers I never use Incoming Fire Alert so I am not sure how useful this would be for beginners. But in my opinion Grease the Gears should be very strong for beginners as well. Especially since some lower tier DDs have quite bad turret turn times (20 to 30s). This will would help a lot in DD vs DD gun fights which are common in lower tier. Even though I game a lot of cretic. The video in general is quite good for new players. On another note, why do you have 610k Free Captain EXP and a not maxed out Lütjens (14:15)? I would recommend leveling him with the EXP. ^c^
Well it's really hard to give 1 captain build good for all ships, if it's for everything it;'s not maxed out. I tried to teach new players good habbits in taking captain skills because retraining is expensive so that was what I came up with, You are free to have Your opinion after 10k games. I don't play ships with lutjens i get it for my schliefen just as a showcase how premium captains and leg modules change ships characteristics si I don't care if it's on 10 level or 19 lvl.
