Wow but wow. All ships' (marine and aircraft) captains have the weight of the world on their shoulders. It's an awesome responsibility that is accepted by and allowed to a small percentage of the population. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲
@@carterthechevrolet9219 I remember pushing 56 southbound on the Cooperative Spirit back when it was the most powerful boat on the Mississippi and it only had 10,000 HP These boats never seem to die they just change names when different companies buy them...I sure miss it. These videos bring back the happiest days of my life. I always wanted to be a riverboat pilot. They did away with the steersman program where you could move up to the wheel house from the deck crew then brought it back later in the 80's Wish i would of stuck around but i headed to Texas to chase money in the oil fields. Take care Carter I am just an old man rambling on.

My God...I was working for Midwest Towing Company in 1980 her sister boat is the Austin S Gargill
Just wondering if he steered or flanked around Grey's Pt.
Go with the flow, the other ship in the begin from the video must work hard in that current on the front.
inland marine. the boat will be trashed in six months
