- AMAZING ARMENIA; Gerard, Garni, And The Symphony Of The Stones
Join me on my first day of traveling through Armenia to some of the most magnificent places I have ever visited.
Our first destination is Gerard, where we visit an amazing Church carved into a cave during the 4th century.
Then we proceed to Garni, a thousand-year-old Greco-Roman Temple, where the Pagan Armenians would hold strange rituals and human sacrifices.
The next stop is the Symphony of the Stones, a breathtaking place where the natural beauty leaves you speechless.
We meet some locals, that immediately take the chance to demonstrate the fantastic Armenian hospitality and end this journey with an Armenian feast fit for a king.
If you enjoy adventure videos from the former Soviet Union and Central & Eastern Europe, then grab your vodka, some zakuski and join me as we visit the amazing country of Armenia and explore the sights of Gerard, Garni, and the Symphony of the Stones.

Use to be one of the biggest collection of Armenian books ...when Armenian was under russia.
History is fascinating, especially when it spills over into other cultures and geographies 👌👍
@@J.E.E absolutely 💯 cheese mate
@eltenda Hi! The mention of your comment is very fascinating to me, Ty. Yes, the island off Venice is called "The island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni," & is just a few hundred meters from Lido di Venezia where the historic Armenian Monastery is founded. The whole of the Island is Armenian & is still in operation today. I know that there are some, organised day tours to the island also & I've been to Venice, but never managed to visit this site. I would love to visit the island with a group of friends & pay for lodging to be able to spend a few nights there. Wishful thinking? But I'm Armenian & have researched this & know of who to contact for details, so✌! It would be a wonderful trip of adventure, sight seeing, knowledge & hopefully some night time group camp-fires. I would also gladly love to experience any paranormal spooky haunts, which is expected in such historic places?! It would be so thrilling! 👻😉 ps: I'm intuitive to these senses & have had some experiences, but never in such places. haha
Justin knows where all the hidden gems can be found and tasted! 🎉
👍👌🤣
WELCOM TO ARMENIA🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Have a nice day !
Best wishes
Thanks for the beautiful videos. Armenians become Christians in 301 AD. The sweet bread is called Gata.💞 🌞💞
Thank you so much!! Beautiful country !!
Armenia looks amazing! So many places to visit and amazing people.
nice bro keep it up show us more soon and we need to see the nice girls from armenia 😉😍
Dear Justin, I would like to thank you for introducing our country so nice. I wish all the best in your business.
armenia love you
That restaurant by symphony of rocks is very good. When my family first came to Armenia in 2017, our relatives took us out to that place. It was awesome! Good fish too. 😊
What a video, well done. Welcome to Armenia my friend.
Nice weather, clear day to see Ararat. Watching the video thousands of miles away and loving it. Have fun and enjoy Ararat brandy.
Justin, I really enjoyed this video and your overall content. Just subscribed! My wife & I watched your Georgia episodes yesterday and loved them as well. Will you be posting more videos from your trip to Armenia?
Hi David and I am so glad that you and your wife are enjoying the content.
Georgia was an amazing place to visit and film so I'm happy the videos worked out.
Did loads of Armenia footage currently in the editing phase so stay tuned for plenty more.
Thank you once again for the kind and supportive comment, all the best
Beautiful site seeing tour. Congrats on reaching your 13K milestone!
It was an amazing place... That k you for the recognition and support👍👌
Great video mate. Keep up the good work ⚡️

amazing Justin thanks for sharing.

Your videos about Armenia are very interesting. Thank you! 😊.
That food looked amazing! Hope your having the best time mate! Enjoy my friend 😊
wonderful video Justin - you captured the moments brilliantly. Love your content - keep going.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words!! 👍😃 👍👌
@@J.E.E you're welcome . I enjoy your content.
Super video)
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, it really helps support the channel. 👍👌
hahaha 4:20 you got the local witches blessings! all jokes, amazing video keep it up and enjoying life! :)
A small correction: "Գեղարդ" (geghard) doesn't translate to "monastery" but to "spear" (it's a type of spear). The monastery got its name from the legend you mention in the video․ The full name of the monastery is "Գեղարդավանք" (geghardavank), which translates as "Monastery of (the) spear". Good stuff, otherwise!)
And one more small correction: Armenia became Christian in 301 AD, not 331 😊
Great video!
Armenia became the first country to establish Christianity as its state religion when, in an event traditionally dated to 301 AD, St. Gregory the Illuminator convinced Tiridates III, the king of Armenia, to convert to Christianity.
Super 🇦🇲👍🇪🇺🇺🇲
amazing❤
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. 👍👌
Viva Arnenia❤
Super 😊
Hi Justin try Dargett beer cafe , I see you like beer so you will like it , thank you my friend for nice videos
Thank you for the recommendation my friend👌👍
Good job 👏
great video justin wow in this airport in sofia i was terminal 1 :)
IM SURE JASTIN YOU WILL LOVE IT SPECIALLY EREVAN IM WISHING U THE BEAST TIME ENJOY
Geghard means spear. Its a reference to the Spear of destiny. Its a megalithic church.
cool video
Armenia👍🇦🇲
12:45 I want to make a correction. We officially accepted Christianity as our State religion in 301 AD not 331 AD :) Cheers!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
😍😍😍😍😍👌👌👌👌👌👌
Old Sofia airport terminal last year was an experience to say the least, I arrived from Eindhoven, waited 2 hours till the border guards were finished smoking in their cubicle before I got my passport stamped :)
🤣🤣🤣 that sounds very accurate 👌👍
btw, there is a relation btw armenian khachqar=crossstone and keltic cross-stone, armenian Qarahunge and british Stonehenge (anglo-saxonic chtronicle)
What are you saying, Justin?! What a human sacrifices ?! To find something like that you should go back for 6-8 millenia of the Armenian history. Even during the history of Van kingdom, which was actually the reign of Aram dynasty, you wouldn't find any notion on it. Moreover during the subsequent dynasties of the Yervandids and Artashesides, when the Garni temple was erected.
Thank you for clarifying my friend👍
@@J.E.E You are welcome, dear Justin 😘
Next time try to make a video with Elena Yerevan
Interesting video I enjoyed it but I have to make a little correction on your dates of Armenian Christianity is not 331 is 301
Thank you so much for pointing it out to me... I knew that and said it correctly in my video in Khor Virap.
I must have watched the video maybe 5 times before it went live but I missed that mistake👃
I think u had something from Arab ( Moroccan )
Dear Justin, why do not you go to Syunik? The real Armenia.

I can't wait to get there. Especially that outdoor restaurant 🤓
Do you think that dialectal language is literary?
There is no sujukh word in Armenian, Sharots must be said.
Before Armenia 🇦🇲 was Christian, most people were Zoroastrian. Freddy Mercury was a Zoroastrian.
No that’s false and misinformation Armenians we’re NOT Zoroastrian but practiced their own native faith with completely different origins.
@@antonbeats9777 Before Zoroastrian they had their own beliefs. However, not every Armenian was Zoroastrian. In those days it was either Zoroastrian or native belief
Kilikia was armenian kingdom
no human sacrifise that is a joke made up story to make it more interesting lol Armenia is very ancient their kingdom existed from times of babylon and shumer, their capital older than Rome and older than the pyramids ;-)
Until 1917, the brandy "ARARAT" was called "SHUSTOV" after the Russian merchant Shustov, who invented this brandy based on local grapes.
There were no human sacrifices in pagan Armenia
Dear Jastin learn Armenian language,
Amazing video one thing I would recommend is a different music choice, actual Armenian folk music from komitas should be used instead of Ashugh Iranian styled music with Mugham
Great videos on Georgia and Armenia. Are you also going to visit the third Caucasian country? 🇦🇿
Azerbaijan is not Caucasian they are Iranian migrants and if you wanna see Iran just go to Iran. 😊
Justin should be awarded Armenian citizenship with immediate effect 🙂
Wouldn't that be something,🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
The music at 14.31 has nothing to do with the Armenian culture! It absolutely sucks!
Ararat- in Turkey, Sucuk- is Turkish sausage, Churchkhela - is Georgian candy, Lavash is Azerbaijan bread, and Background songs (most)- are Azerbaijan songs. Only Konyak is related to Armenia. Anyway, welcome to the number 1 country in the world, literally in everything ;) Have a nice trip mate!
You probably believe that. There was no Azerbaijan or Turkey when those things were created.
Azeri nomads can’t make lavash in tonirs)))
calm down
Armenia pls stop stilling Georgian culture😁😁 sijuk is Turkish word and it means sausage!
Yes, you're right, but I found out that in Armenia this sweet is often called "Sweet sujuk"😀
first of all go learn some english
How armenians can stole smth, when in origin armenians, assiryans and iraninas , Greeks are the native people of these area
Thanks friends, great video!🙌🍷🤝
Круто
Sudjux is turkish word, the current name is Sharots.
ok for english speakers you know Geghard Mousasi the MMA fighter ?? the name of the monastery is pronounced the same way as his first name ..as for the Garni Temple its a Mithraic temple (no human sacrifices)...you remember in the movie Gladiator where Commodus tells Marcus Aurelius "I shall sacrifice a 100 bulls"..??? well that was made to Mithra or in Armenian Mihr...you can see Mithraic temples throughout all Europe (including France and Italy) and throughout the middle eastern countries formerly known as provinces of the Roman Empire ...Mihr or Mithra was a very popular diety among Roman Legioneres and the altar you were standing near was where a golden statue of Mithra or Mihr used to stand...cheerio old bean
vagan :)
I think you are armenian
