    Hello Scooty man as a result of reading your reviews I have got rid of my 2002 cg125 and purchased a red vision with Givi topbox and screen, I have covered 300 miles in the first two weeks so it is now run in.It is a good looking scooter and I was impressed with its acceleration and 50 plus cruising speed, I have seen 60 on the clock briefly which it got to easily although I didn't like to push it at this mileage, we have some very steep hills with hairpin bends here in Lancaster and it took them comfortably, also the brakes were very good,Fuel consumption has worked out at 140 plus.Iam 13 stone and found the front suspension very hard, reducing the front tyre pressure slightly helped without heating up the rubber . the seat was very comfortable.I am over 70 and have ridden 1950s bikes also sidecars and modern v4 rocketships, the vision is an amazing scoot and now fast enough for me , many thanks John B

      Hi Pavlin,
      I thought I’d take the time to drop a quick comment three years on from your original one. Whilst this scooter has proven fairly reliable, we have discovered a few weak points. Nothing terminal I might add but it’s with the electrical system and I am recording content as we speak which I will upload soon. These are our findings as two of my work colleagues also ride Vision 110’s to commute to work on but they visit my little workshop regularly for a bit of TLC so I’m seeing it first hand. We are up in Scotland so it might be weather related but will make an interesting watch.
      Best regards

      @@2006Pavlin yes sir you are indeed correct. We put these little scooters through hell and with a bit of maintenance they bounce back. Adventures With Woody
      Hi Woody. Now that I’m living in Scotland and commuting to work every day I was also tempted by the GTS 300. After seeing the harshest winter I have ever seen and how Vespa’s don’t like water and salt (lift the cover under your feet on a GTS to see what I mean) I decided that my next scooter if I go larger would be a second hand Honda SH300 or similar. I’ve seen a few videos on TH-cam showing the rust problems and until Vespa address this my money stays with Honda. I’m still really happy with the Vision on my 46 mile a day round trip and it is just adequate for the faster stretches of road (I like to hold 50-60 mph).

    Many thanks for the complete and competent videoreport. I just bought a new Honda Vision 110
    and i am perfectly happy as far as quality, design, limited weight and power. I only express some perplexity in regard of the fragility of some component. The battery replacement , for istance, will be a dangerous operation due to the extreme fragility of the security tabs. During the winter months i was used to remove the battery from the old scooter (Kymco) in order to keep it charged, but now i am afraid to do it due to the complexity of the operation. Or, anyway, i wait for have a look at it in TH-cam.

      Thanks for your comments. I hadn't noticed the plastics on the front cover where the battery is to be particularly fragile. To save removing it every time you want to charge, why not do similar to me and drill a 22mm hole in the left front pocket. You can then insert a grommet and feed through an Optimate charge lead into the pocket. You can then charge from the lead without the need for battery removal, plus you can get an accessory pack which turns your Optimate lead into a USB port or a heated gear lead. It's worth the effort to do this but just check behind the panel where you drill to ensure you don't damage any wires or cables behind there. Hope that helps and enjoy the new scooter.

      I had no previous idea of the existence of that Optimate Charger Lead, permitting to go through the bodywork end in the meantime to isolate the battery from the outside. i will buy it and i will connect it to my old but still working CTEK XS800. i was thinking to buy the TecMate Optimate OMTM71. May i ask you where have you pierced the bodywork in the left front pocket? This, because it seems that my front pocket are different from yours. Enjoyed the review. I went for the Suzuki Address 110 in the end as it was such a good deal. Its very hard to tell the Address and Vision apart. I ride big bikes also, but there is something about small scooters that just makes me smile. I tend to cruise about at 50-55 on mine and also have a larger Puig screen. Took it to Loomies over the downs in the pouring rain and do the shopping in it also. Amazing what you can cram in to it with a top box, underseat and footwell hook. Seriously considering getting shot of my larger bike, maybe will go halfway and get a Burgman 300. Reckon the Vision is better regarding front suspension as the address can get a bit jarring over potholes and bad surface.

      Sean Hull
      Hi Sean. I found myself nodding and agreeing with all that you have said. I am doing my full licence next week, an upgrade to the A1 I passed last year and I too don't want a big bike. I'm looking for something in the 250 category so that when my girlfriend is on the back we can overtake on motorways comfortably and hold a little more speed on hills than our S Wing 125 gives. I'm thinking Suzuki Inazuma and like the address, you can't beat the deals on offer. Reading on the internet shows that Suzuki also have similar new technology, they just don't shout about it as much as Honda. The Address was on my radar for quite a while and I nearly pushed the button before the new Vision came along. Loomies on a scooter eh? There's hope for me yet then as I'm over in Ash Vale until the move to Scotland which is edging ever closer. I will have to wait for a wet day and give the Vision a run there.
      Enjoy the scoot and best regards

      Hi there. The Address is great, use it all the time. Put a slightly smaller screen on as I like my head in free air while protecting lower down. Well done on passing your test. I still have an NC750X for when I really need to get somewhere a distance away, but much prefer riding the Address. In time I may well get shot of both and get something like an SH300i. Address is now on 1200 miles. No problems at all, not one. Happily sits at 55 indicated all day and will do over 60 but its an effort. Considering adding pegs on the sides to stretch my legs. Shame they don't sell the Honda Navi here, I fancy one of those!

      Thank you for your comments. Since I made this video, I have clocked up over 23,000 miles on the Vision 110 and made a whole host of other mods to the scooter. It now has Rigid industries spot lights, heated grips and we have also made some engine mods too. I have vbeen playing with a larger throttle body and a bigger fuel injector for a bit more power and torque. The results have been surprisingly good but I’m not done yet. In my garage I have a spare 110esp engine. To that we are going to fit a Kitaco 126cc big bore kit, a Keihin 140cc injector and hopefully a 28mm throttle body. I am also playing with an air/fuel gauge right now and also I have access to a Kitaco imap fuel controller which we are going to see if I can get it to work with this model. The engine build probably won’t be until 2021 as I have so many projects on the go right now but maybe one day it will appear in a video.

    Hi Scooty man thanks for the great review, i have recently bought a 2017 Honda vision 110, it is excellent quality, i love it. very smooth and economical, one of the main reason i chose it was because YOU CAN FIT a full face helmet under the seat, i have a Box BX-1 medium helmet and fits under the seat fine.
    maybe larger helmets wont, but i made the Honda Main dealer salesman test a few helmets to make sure before i purchased.
    Overall its the best scooter I've ridden and is brilliant for commuting, through busy traffic, a joy to ride.

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Lee,
      Thanks for your comments and congratulations on your new purchase. It's now been ten months and just under 3000 miles I've had mine and still I'm very happy with it. I mentioned in this review that I was planning a move to Scotland. Well, we have now moved and I have been busy doing lots of upgrades on mine ready for the winter commute ahead. I am now running winter tyres and I have fitted heated grips along with handlebar muffs which are brilliant. I have been changing the oil every 1000 miles and cleaning the strainer every time to watch for metal filings over the run in period but it's all good. I ride a 45 mile round trip commute five times a week over the Queensferry crossing and into Edinburgh and I have to say it hasn't missed a beat.
      I also recently bought a Honda CBF1000 which is now in hibernation for the colder months. The lower power of the Vision is much easier on frosty mornings than the big bike in my opinion.
      As a side note, make sure you have your valve clearances checked when they are due on the service as I checked mine today and my valves were quite tight. I called Honda and asked for the valve clearance specs for the new 110 ESP engine so if you need them just mail me and I'll give you the info you need.
      With regards the helmet under the seat thing, my helmets are made by Shoei and size 59 which I believe is a large. For me there's no chance of it fitting under the seat so it's a size thing I guess whether it fits or not.
      I am about to record a ten month review and upgrade update which I will be posting soon if you are interested.
      Ride safe and best regards
      Scooty

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be honest I don’t know so much about the Suzuki address other than it has proved reliable. I like Honda because of the known reliability and easy parts availability.
      The larger front wheel is a big plus point for the vision 110 on this model (older model had 14” front wheel) and in 25,000 miles I have only had a couple of breakdowns. Please remember that I ride in Scotland through the worst winter conditions and one of those breakdowns was probably my own fault (going through a flooded road over the floorboards isn’t good for the CKP sensor).
      I am currently considering returning to TH-cam soon and I will be doing a series of maintenance videos on this scooter if I decide to return so you may wish to keep an eye on the channel for this content.
      I also have a few nice additions coming also to enhance the performance of this scooter. It might involve a different exhaust, not for noise but actual performance enhancement as I also run a bigger throttle body and injector and I might share that info too.
      Hope that helps and best regards

      Keith Latty thank you for your comments. I too looked at the Suzuki Address and by all accounts it is a good scooter. I guess I felt the Honda was just a little further up the road as so to speak with the technology. I also liked the available accessories for the Honda over the Suzuki and the Start/Stop brings with it a bigger more powerful ACG (AC generator) which if you switch off the start stop, you could use the extra capacity of the electrical system to power heated gear. I have already fitted an Optimate lead and I run my heated gloves and body warmer with this scooter without any problems of flat batteries etc. The battery is located under the front panel below the headlight so it's easy to run a lead into the left storage pocket from inside with the aid of a drill.
      Hope that helps further and Best regards

      Hi Johnny. I'm not sure of the differences between the two but I went online and checked my order. The fitting kit code was A1106A for Honda Vision 50-100. I'm guessing they added the last bit on about the model because I believe this screen fits other models also (I think the SH 300/125 but not entirely sure). If you live near to Hampshire or Surrey and you wanted to have a closer look let me know but I can tell you it makes a big difference to comfort and performance.

      Hi Erickson. Well once again a Honda dealership talks a load of rubbish ;) if they have made that comment, ask them why it is that Honda make a screen for your bike as an optional extra?
      Buy the Givi screen! You will love it. Not only does it stop all the wind beating you receive, it also makes you a little more aerodynamic and you will probably see a lift in your top end speed. Don't expect massive extra speed but mine holds 65-70 mph on dual carriageways (different engine remember) and motorways. That is the top speed mind and its better at 50-60 for a comfortable cruising speed.
      I don't notice any instability after fitting my screen. I would say it's actually safer as my mirrors stick out a little further and I'm not having to eat so many flies in the summer and take less soakings in the rain.
      That's my two pence worth. In short, go buy one.
      Best regards

    Quick question, recently got the 2019 model (110 also) and bought what looks like the same top box from givi. The universal mounting plate that comes with it doesn't align with any holes on the rear rack. Any advice please? Many thanks in advance

      Hi Adrian,
      If you look at the little metal square washer type fixings that go into the grid on the mounting plate, I believe that two of the slots were pointing from front to back and two were side to side if you get my drift. If you still struggle send me a pm and I’ll send you a pic of where and how my square washers fit into the grid.
      Hope that helps

      @@scootyman2974 thank you for your help. I think I also need to purchase a sr1153 rack to add on to the back. Noob error on my behalf. Or did you go straight from universal plate to bike (hope that makes sense)

    Hi, well meaning comment, but if you still own/run this bike, do you know the first MOT is passed due? Don't ask me why I bothered to look up the reg number, I guess I was interested if anything was flagged at first MOT. Thanks for the video by the way. I used to have a PCX, before getting a bigger bike, but still miss the scooter simplicity. May look at the Vision as a cheaper option. Cheers

      You can tell the world is in lockdown when someone random checks if your scooter on TH-cam has a valid MOT. In actual fact it doesn’t have an MOT as it was written off when rear ended in Edinburgh a while ago. However, let me assure you that the replacement Vision has all legal requirements required to legally operate on a public highway. Thanks for your concern and yes, a Vision 110 would be a great runaround for you. I also have a big bike tucked away in the garage but I don’t get to use it much and was considering letting it go in part exchanga for something smaller. VStrom 250 maybe? Watch this space and best regards

    Thank you for your video. I have a question. I am from vietnam. I would like to know that honda will release vision 2019 with smartkey and 125cc. Do you have any information about this. Because in vietnam all kinds of vihiciles are released later than Europe. Thank you. :)

      Thomas Oppenlænder
      Hi Thomas.
      As much as I love the little Vision 110, I think I would choose something slightly larger. Sure it will do a 45 mile journey fine but I feel the cruising speed on one of the new Honda 125’s i.e the PCX or the SH would make the journey more comfortable.
      I have just commuted through a very harsh Scottish winter through all weathers including snow with the aid of winter tyres and my journey is around 22 miles each way. I manage to just hold 50 mph up hills against strong head winds but a 125 would be better.
      Watch out for my channel as soon I am uploading a video on Dr Pulley Variator weight changes for the Vision 110 with very good results. It may interest you if you are contemplating a scooter for commuting
      Hope that helps and best regards

    hi there ,i will buy a vision 110 ,should i buy the new model or the old(euro3)i ve heard euro 3 are stronger is it true?

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexandros Bardakas
      Hi Alexandros,
      From experience I would say that the new ESP engine (euro4) is a stronger unit. I could only just touch 60 mph on a downhill run with my old Vision 110 (euro3) whereas this model seems to hold 60mph easily. There are other advantages with the new engine. I believe that the electrical output is also greater which is useful for your accessories.
      Hope that helps and best regards

    what is the top speed on this bike? looking to buy one but i seriously dont know what to go for very confused. need some help plz :D am buying one for delivery and i want one that is reliable, not one that will break down in couple of months...

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      samayy15
      Hi Samar, forget the speed thing if you are using it for delivery work. It's more than quick enough for doing that and it's very very nimble through the traffic. With the screen it will go 65 mph on the flat but that is all out maximum. It will go a little faster but remember you have to stop at some point.
      Reliability has never been a problem for the Vision 110. We have two Visions in our family, we have the 50 too and that great for the town. They are both bomb proof reliable and a great easy to live with scooter. If you are going to do high miles the I would recommend one of these over a PCX or an SH 125 as you don't have as much depreciation to worry about. Also, if you've ever tried to do the valve clearances on a PCX you'll know what a job and a half that is. Good luck with your selection and ride safe

      Great video anyway! Great bike as well! I own a Honda Wave 100 before. It was tough! Easy to maintain. But i had to let it go after 4 years of service with me. Now I own a Yamaha Mio Soul Fi. Scooter is actually more comfortable to ride. We don't have that design here in the Philippines. Looks like the Suzuki Address. You should try the Honda Click if you ever get the chance to review one. I've tried it before and it is actually better than my Mio. Ride safe Mr ScootyMan!

      Hey Jay, thanks for your comments. My girlfriend is from Pasuqin, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. The wave 100 had a good engine. Very reliable indeed! I love the look of the click and I think that has the 110esp engine also plus a 125 version. I think your Mio is made in the Philippines so will be a quality machine like the Wave. It looks similar to the Vision only more sporty.
      Ride safe fellow scooter rider ;)

      Hi Richard, yes you will be fine with this as a commuter. Your height won’t make much difference as the seat is flat and you can slide back a little. Mine is now at 9000 miles and still doing the daily round trip of 45 miles through some of the worst weather Scotland saw in a long time so if you are realistic about the performance then yes, the Vision should do you proud.

      Yes it’s funny how that works out. I ride a CBF1000 and it’s about £74 a year up here in Scotland. The scooter is usually around the £100-110 mark. I think it’s because they are usually written off when panel damage occurs and of course they seem to get stolen more. I’ll be doing quite a bit more on this scooter in the coming weeks if you’re interested.
      Best regards
