    Love the content and vibe here. I'm new back into collecting since 1st + 2nd gen. Shoutout to 151 for reeling me back in lol!! I've honestly been going more booster boxes now. I like to have one each of the ETBs but they are too bulky to store long term compared with booster boxes.

      Yes ETBs are a bit of a pain to store

    Love this video! Also saw the one on the booster boxes. The Sun & Moon era was special because of the pandemic boom in Pokemon with the limited prints, but even with today sets the sealed stuff will get more 'rare', so we will see what it does in 10 years

    • @ThePokeOffice
      @ThePokeOffice  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea. Like, SM will more than likely have much bigger numbers than SWSH, but swsh can still do very well in 5 years

    Love this content. Would've loved to see a comparison to your booster box video, which would likely show a preference to booster boxes in profit and storage space/cost. Sealed product value usually goes up, but this video and especially your booster box video, there is efficiency to be gained to choose the right products, DCA your way in, and forget about it. Thanks to this video, I don't speculate on which products to buy for sealed collection (buy and forget), and then focus on the products Im looking to rip to finish master sets and pull chase cards.

    I own almost every sword and shield ETB except for celebrations. Sealed product will most likely always increase over time not the same for Pokemon card singles unless it’s a big chase or high dollar card

    • @keyframeclips
      @keyframeclips ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s only partly true, not really looking at the whole picture that way though. Chases are what drive the value of a set, so they really have more of a direct relationship. That’s a big part of why multiple vintage sets are several thousands of dollars for booster boxes. My point just being that if the market decides the chase cards of a set are no longer valuable then the sealed product will also loose value.

    Hi, I wonder if it's worthy to invest in normal sets, e.g., for 151, all normals card before 165 without reverse holo. I can make like 4 ~ 5 sets if I buy some exs from tcgplayers for around $70.

    • @ThePokeOffice
      @ThePokeOffice  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I personally don't see the value in doing that - it's a lot of work and probably won't get much of a return on it. But if you enjoy it, then go for it!

    This just shows how crazy the price difference is between NA and EU. In Europe, you don't really get a S&M base ETB below 80€, which is is close to 90$ USD. Considering NA people can get it around 65$ USD that's a huge difference. Makes sense because English sets are way more common there, but you'd think we'd have some UK people being able to provide it, but nope.
    Then again, there's some sets and especially singles that are dirt cheap here while they go for a good buck in the US. (I am always referencing English product by the way)
    Anyways, S&M was before I got back into the hobby. If I find something cheap, I pick it up, but I don't chase it necessarily.
    Thanks for the info, Colin! =)

    I think investing in booster box or triple pack is more worth than ETB since you have to take in mind of shipping cost for ETB as they are bulkier and harder to send

      I bought one. It’s a very unique product because it’s so expensive and big.

    That growth is crazy. Great data. I'm definitely curious to see if the Pokemon hobby continues to grow (which I believe it will) of if something like Lorcana will have an impact on the long term investability. Ideally, I want to invest in both but there are only so many dollars available for investing

    • @ThePokeOffice
      @ThePokeOffice  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Lorcana will have it's own clientele, but Pokemon is a proven winner with a big following for a long long time.
      imo, Pokemon is almost a little bit too big right now. They are printing soooo much product, so I have a feeling we won't see the gains like SM era for a while now. SWSH and SV will have good gains, but not to the same extent as SM

    I caught it waayyyy to late. I was passing up boxes when GameStop and Toys r Us was closing. Almost missed it in Lego and I was buying them out when they were closing... but it goes like this... Even if it is an etb as one other channel said don't buy etb's but it seems though even wether booster box ( booster's will always do better ) etb's or whatever... Keep it for 2-5 years even if now it's a or seems to be a " bad set " it will gain. Once Lego, Pokemon whatever is out of print, it will go up. Pokemon seems to do better than Lego a few years ago even before covid it was equal slightly better meaning quicker gains. Now not so much.

    • @ThePokeOffice

      Like I said in the video, that is a BIG assumption where you can actually sell for market price.
