😘😘😘
Vulnicura is Vespertine's dark twin. Where Vespertine is all about falling deeply and madly in love, Vulnicura is all about love's unraveling and undoing.
and i love how some lyrics intertwine, like "I love him, I love him, I love him" in Pagan Poetry to "Did I love you too much?" in Black Lake
Considering that both albums are about the same person in Bjork's life.... truly devastating. I can't listen to Vulnicura because it's so intimate that I feel like i'm invading her emotions
@beatrizortega1712 vespertine is exactly the same, it's a huge invasion of her most intimate privacy, both albums are. that's why she's SUCH a good artist, because she lays herself completely bare with genius level story telling and musiciallity. Cocoon is the most sexually intimate song I've ever heard, and black lake, which i adore but almost cant listen to, is the total destruction of her heart. Bjork is wildly underrated.
my top 5:
1. history of touches
2. history of touches
3. history of touches
4. history of touches
5. history of touches
It is such a perfectly calm, melancholy, reflective, wistful piece of poetry
If I remember correctly she arranged the strings on Stonemilker all by herself, which is mindblowing to think about. What sets her apart is her endless uniqueness and creativity, but we often forget she's also an excellently proficient technical musician at that.
She wrote all the strings on Vulnicura on her own..
She's been actually writing all her arrangements since Homogenic! She's a superb composer:)
She writes all her music on her own. It may come as a shock to you cause she is a woman. lol
EXACTLY!!! Shes a musical genius!!!
Anohni's an incredible artist as well, she released an album this year named "My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross" which is absolutely incredible and devastating on its themes. She also released an experimental album around the time of Vulnicura, which is an outstanding one of the 2010s named "Hopelessness" with lyrics about our environmental collapse. You should check them out!
I'd also recommend the first Hercules and Love Affair album featuring Anohni. Very interesting and groovy. I think my favorite Anohni song is "Hope There's Someone". That song destroys me.
Yeah, her albums back in the 2000s are also beautiful, with “I Am a Bird Now” being an outstanding chamber pop record
@@alenanga I concur, "I am a bird now" is absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful albums every released.
sounds great!!
What’s also interesting is that the entire album is chronological. She starts with the communication problems and the first cracks showing, then the final time they touch each other, then the break up, then the falling apart of her life etc etc
OMG, I'm so excited to see this, one of my all-time fave Björk albums!
such a mature, vulnerable and raw album - Family is my favourite Bjork song, start to finish is music perfection and lyrically its so unbelievably painful but almost hopeful towards the end..
1. Stonemilker~ My favourite Bjork song of all time
Thank YOU Dan for showing YOUR vulnerability! I’ve watched many reactions from you and seen you cry numerous times, and I just appreciate how freely you allow music to affect you and are completely unashamed to show us all your emotions. You’re a role model for vulnerability!
awwww thank you 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
YES PLEASEEE!! WE ALL LOVE YOUR BJORK CONTENT PLEASE BRING HER BACK!!!
StoneMilker , History of Touches, Notget, Black Lake, Mouth Mantra.
She started collaborating with Arca on this album and their unapologetic creativeness, mutual love of music and self expression helped them form a genuine friendship that seamlessly flows into Bjork's follow up project , UTOPIA (2017). 💜💜💜
Utopia is My personal favorite💜❤️💜 Which is the next step after A Breakup (Vulnicura) new sense of self discovery and What new adventures lie ahead, all the while, still processing the breakup & pain that's gotten you to this next phase in life.
Thank you so much for your sincerity, for allowing yourself to be vulnerable, emotional and to let people see the beautiful person you are. I truely hope you're receiving all the love you deserve in your private life. Peace!
black lake is one of the most heartbreaking songs ever
We’ve all been waiting for thissss!! I’m so glad it’s finally here! 😭 This album is so raw and tender 💔
Omg que emoción, vulnicura es un álbum tan hermoso 😭
Top 5:
1- Stonemilker, nothing can compare
2- Mouth Mantra, love all the various sounds and how it progresses
3- Lionsong
4- History of Touches
5- Family, specifically the last 2 minutes are the most blissful musical experience I’ve ever had.
This album came out around the time of the breakup of my first long-term relationship, college graduation, and having to move back in with my parents. I'm so excited to see how you react to this showpiece of an album!
I’ve crossed dimensions through this album before, thanks for the great reacts
HOW did you not cry on history of touches? Its been almost 9 years I hear this song and Im still cry everytime. Can you imagine having sex with a person knowing this is the last time? Its a nighmare
However, this albun is composed in time, so, we have first song = 4 months before breakup, second song = 3 months before etc, and family its the breakup itself. Thats why theres the “space sound”, because its finally over. Then we go foward with her, one monte after break up, two months and so
Its an incredível journey and hits very hard when is your heart that is broken
Thanks! A tip for this reaction … and for my video Patreon request (which is a bit long). Happy Merries! 💕😽💕🤕
aw MICHELLE you're such a babe
top 5 songs:
1. family, I think it's one of my favorite björk songs ever
2. history of touches
3. lionsong
4. stonemiker
5. atom's dance
Stonemilker, HIstory of touches, Black Lake, Atom Dancer, and Family is my favorite tracks from this great album!
Family is a whole sonic novel of itself. One of the saddest yet most magical and beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. This album is incredible!
family is one of bjork’s greatest. love this album thanks for your reaction
"Vulnicura" is a neologism of Bjork's, that stems from latin: _vulna_ - wounds, _cura_ - cure.
You know when Bjork makes a breakup album, it's going to be devastating. Black Lake is insane. I saw Bjork live on the Volta tour and she had the entire theater sobbing and holding each other. It was the best concert I've ever been to. There is no comparison. She was using the ReacTable Synth on that tour and it was so interesting to watch them use it live. The had the table projected on a huge screen.
OBSESSED with this album. And the tears on the thumbnail make me think you are too 💕
Love how you broke down these songs!I could even know deeper about this album.❤❤
Family is the best song i've ever heard easily my best song oat
I visualize the haunting string duet at the end of Black Lake as the partners' hands slipping away from one another for the last time.
dont ill start crying again 😂
1.family
1 1/2.stonemilker
2.everything else
You don't know Anohni? Listen to Antony and the Johnsons self titled album and I Am a Bird Now & Crying Light. The best chamber pop of the 2000s. Best non LP tracks I Fell In Love With a Dead Boy! Frankenstein (about sex change or dysmorphia) love
We need more Anohni (Johnsons) reactions for sure ❤
Agreed. Anohni is a great artist to react to!!! Love both the solo stuff and the Anthony and the Jonssons
Mouth Mantra, I want to remember Björk talking about how this song was about her issue she had with her singing chords, She underwent an operation which could have made her loose her singing abilities, she was not allowed to talk or sing for a while when this was going on.
oh wow!
"I had a recurring dream every time I lose my voice..."
@@ehianoctaviomorahernandez2624wasn’t a dream anymore is it
I listened to this album to just find some great music, but this is one of the few albums that both resonate emotionally and sonically with me, truly beautiful.
I've been a Björk fan since Homogenic days; Vulnicura and Black Lake are my top album and song by her.
For another fantastically devastating breakup album with incredible sound design by Arca, you really must listen to FKA twigs' Magdalene.
My favorite album of hers. You saw the perfect point of the strings on this album, hadn't thought of it that way before. There's a podcast on Spotify about the production of Vulnicura and Björk also has a podcast about each album. I recommend the Mouth Mantra remix with Haxan Cloack and the strings version of the album! 💚
my fav songs on this album are stonemilker, notget, black lake, lionsong and history of touches! this album is so heartbreaking

fun fact this album was produced by arca 😍 talking about arca i would love to see your reaction to kick iiii and iiiii since you reacted to the first three and maybe forgot to do the rest 😭
Some songs were co-produced by Arca*
No, Arca worked on family and History of touches, that’s all. The album was almost finished when Björk invited her. That’s why she isn’t mentioned unlike in Utopia.
@@Monik-ol8gc girl quicksand too
