    I always respected Steve, but man I have even more for him now after seeing this! Steve is the living definition of "support the arts"

  • @spinakker14
    @spinakker14 6 ปีที่แล้ว +83

    I absolutely love his philosophy on lending out property for artists and having whole districts for artists, barristas, service people, cops. People don't realise what a struggle it is for artists when they don't have the time and the money to create art simply because they don't have a (cheap, proximal) space to do art. There should be more landlords like him!
    Thanks Steve!

      Uh, maybe, lol. He's a character, no doubt. But he literally uses a tea bag about 10 times and feeds his dog every other day, to save money. Every tenant has to pay the rent, no one lives for free. The rents are cheap but they're also not really finished spaces, they're rough but that's what some artists want and need. But let's be honest, all landlords want rent paid every month.

And even more, like, I loved the guy, every time he appeared on Corridor Crew. But...I never knew he had such a great story behind him. Such a great motivation. I was a fan of the guy from the first appearance, but now I have a whole 'nother level of respect and admiration for him, as an individual. The world would be a much better place if more people like Steve were out there with the ability to influence things.

    @StevetheLandlord, I just read the Wikipedia article on the Pink Lady, and it's crazy to think that behind every piece of art is the artist and behind them is their family and the family has a story to share. I love seeing you in the Corfidor Crew videos and hope that your health keeps up for a long time to come. The world would be a poorer place without you and the stories that you have to tell.
    To everyone reading this after that bit of glad handing, talk to your grandparents, your uncles and aunts and have them regale you with their stories because if you don't ask and they don't tell anyone the world will be poorer from a lack of history.

It's amazing to see people like Steve in downtown LA who are not jaded, like Niko touched on in the video, who continue to live a happy life silently creating and embellishing and serving their communities but most importantly having fun. I had no idea the kind of life Steve had lived and kinda thought Steve was just the goofy eccentric land lord up until this video and I have been a long time Corridor and Sam and Niko subscriber.
