The energy in the video with Morgan filming/being in the videos is fantastic! It truly gave the content a nice new layer. You guys seem to have so much fun together🙂
Your spine is naturally curved in 3 different places (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) to form a S shape. Everyone has a slight curve on their lower back. Problems can occur if they are too curved or not curved enough. You don't want a flat back (flat back syndrome is literally what its called). You would have problems with balance and pain in your legs and back. I don't think you have Lordosis (that pic that Zoe showed you), but of course I can't tell for sure from a view clips. Go to your physician or PT to get fully examined if you feel it bothers you. I am an RN btw (in L&D though, not Ortho)
Hi Alfie, I am a ballet dancer how has corrected their sway back/ pelvic tilt. Although it is normal to have a slight curve yours is particularly over exposed. A way to tell is by laying on the floor laying in what you consider neutral spine/ everyday posture and seeing whether you can fit your whole hand underneath. If your whole hand can fit you have an extreme sway back. Doing sit ups will not help you with correcting your posture. Isolating your abdominals and front of you hips by doing different strengthening excerpts will help you correct it. Hope that helps a bit. Awesome camera quality and love you videos. Been watching you, Zoe and Joe for about 4 years and still loving it.
You’re back is fine but I had the exact same problem and my physio told me to tilt my pelvis forwards like you were saying and need to strengthen glutes and abs like Zoe said!
Hey Alfie, you do have an anterior pelvic tilt but I wouldn't worry about it unless you get lower back pain. If you're actually worried you can go see a remedial massage therapist they can release your lower back (QL muscle and esg) and your hip flexors which can help straighten it out a little. You can buy a small physio ball and try to release them yourself but probably go see a qualified therapist and they should show you how to fix it. Don't try to stand differently!! You'll usually end up using the wrong muscles which can lead to more imbalances. Or ask your pt, they should be able to help with posture or point you in the right direction for a good massage therapist :) In general, a slight curve is ok, our backs are naturally supposed to be curved to help absorb impact from walking and jumping.
Your spine should be fine. If anything it could be mild lordosis in your lower back causing more of a curve but not as extreme as the picture! You may have a tight lower back so stretch it out to help release tension.
Your back is totally normal, but if you straighten your back you will relieve some of the tension which can cause pain. For me it really helped doing ballet cause it focuses on right posture. It would be really entertaining watching you try it!😂 If you want to have a better posture you can focus on closing your rib cage, activate your core, head high and your shoulders should be back and down (haha it’s hard to explain but you could always google) anyways if you don’t have a problem with pain in your lower back, then the posture isn’t really anything you need to change☺️☺️
I had the "over" extended curve, caused by sitting at a desk and/or slouching. My physio taught me to tilt my pelvis, as I had developed sciatica. The easiest way to explain how to tilt it is; a) clench your buttocks really tightly; b) pull in your lower stomach muscles; c) move your buttocks forward. The clenching automatically starts to realign your spine. It is not a "fix", rather a relief from pain, but if you can get used to doing this you'll find you automatically adjust to relieve pain without even thinking about it. Hope this helps as a short term, but as others have said, pls go to your GP and either get a referral for physio or for a chiropractor. x
There are things like wobble cushions that will help you strengthen your back when sitting to help sit properly or sitting on yoga balls helps instead of your desk chair. Also I've been told that tightening your stomach while sitting will also help straighten your back. Like sucking in your belly button but not holding in your breathe
I love crocs I wear them all the time ligit I wore them today around town lol our family own about 10 paires from ages ago but still wear them all the time
Alfie, it is quite normal to have an arch at the lower back. Looks fine. Upper back between the arms bows out. Hips too. Neck goes in. It's a lot of curves. Side to side it should be straight though. If it isn't it's called scoliosis and you have 5 minutes to live. Camera looks ok, maybe a bit overexposed or gammaed too high but that's a style choice. I assume the teal orange filter is all you :)
Your spine has a bit of an anterior pelvic tilt but it isn’t as bad as you think because a person has natural curvatures of your spine but strengthening your abdominal muscles will help.. I’m a student and I’ve done posture a few months ago. I may not be 100% correct💙
Hi Alfie loving the vlogs atm, I think you should look at ballet techniques for posture if you're worried about your back. In ballet it talks about tucking your bum under and keeping your shoulders back. I have did ballet for 12 years and want to go back to it, at the age of 16 I feel I need that aspect of fitness in my life again (hope this was useful) x
Did they ever post/show the results of the 90 day challenge?

a slight S-curve is normal for an average adult male. Your spine looks fine!

Awesome quality! Whats the camera you are using?
My husbands back is the same. The Physio said it's partly down to hamstrings being tight so getting some more stretching in might help Alfie

Love the camera, it's very clear and it has a wider screen.

Pelvic tilt is usually from sitting for too long too often. To fix strength your abs, lower back, and legs
