Thanks for making this expanded video on Richard Widmark! I have seen 44 Richard Widmark films. Most of the remaining movies have been hard to find. I must have seen Widmark dozens of times in Orient Express without knowing who he was. It was only when I was watching Yellow Sky for Peck and I kept paying attention to Widmark in their scenes together that I looked him up and became a fan. I love film noir and westerns, so I have a lot of favourites. My favourites are Panic in the Streets, Night and the City, Murder on the Orient Express, The Bedford Incident, Pick Up on South Street, Broken Lance, Madigan, Road House, Yellow Sky, Warlock, The Street With No Name, The Law and Jake Wade, Two Rode Together, Backlash, Halls of Montezuma, The Way West, Garden of Evil, Don't Bother to Knock, Alvarez Kelly, Run For the Sun and Take the High Ground. Favourite posters and stills are from Judgement at Nuremberg, Panic in the Streets, Night and the City, Kiss of Death, The Bedford Incident, Pick Up on South Street, No Way Out, Yellow Sky, Road House, The Alamo, Madigan, Warlock, The Last Wagon, The Law and Jake Wade, Cheyenne Autumn, Two Rode Together, Backlash, The Way West, Don't Bother to Knock, Garden of Evil, The Trap, Alvarez Kelly, The Long Ships, Run For the Sun, Hell and High Water, Red Skies of Montana, The Tunnel of Love, Take the High Ground, and the final still.
Hi Flora, another big favorite of yours gets updated, glad you liked the video! 44 out of 50 is excellent, my tally is 24. Lots of favorites including - How the West Was Won, Bedford Incident, The Way West, Twilights Last Gleaming, Broken Lance, Law and Jake Wade, The Last Wagon and The Long Ships. Thanks again for commenting, happy you liked the posters and stills. Another noir great on friday.
Widmark's highest rated flicks were ones in which he was member of stellar cast. It looks as though he was slightly better than B actor and was rarely offered great roles.
Plenty here to discuss...but it's all about that easy smile which could be cheery one minute and chilling the next.....Widmark; never boring always convincing...and part of one of the screens great love scenes....with Felicia Farr in The Last Wagon.
1st saw mr.widmark in against all odds starring Jeff Bridges and James Woods. Richard played a small role as the Football team owner and Woods boss.He was great and I've liked him in everything since. He had by far the most memorable 1st film role ever as Tommy Udo in kiss of death 1947.average film but,Mr. Widmark was unforgettable in that character.I don't believe he ever gave a bad performance!
"No Way Out" with personal friend Sidney Poitier was his best role.Although he was excellent in his debut film " Kiss of Death' as a psychopath. His best films,in order " No Way Out","Kiss of Death",'Warlock",'Halls of Montezuma".And then go from there.
Richard you might enjoy Cogerson's UMR website, lots of facts and stats and the regulars love chatting about the classics. Here's a link to Widmark's page - www.ultimatemovierankings.com/richard-widmark-movies/
The Street with No Name 1948 William Keighley. Yellow Sky 1948 William A. Wellman. Gran western con reparto de lujo. Gregory Peck, Anne Baxter y Richard Widmark. Night and the City 1950 Julies Dassin. Panic in the Streets 1950 Elia Kazan. No Way Out 1950 Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Don't Bother to Knock 1952 Roy Ward Baker. Interesante película junto a la gran Marilyn Monroe. Pickup on South Street 1953 Samuel Fuller. Grandes westerns. Garden of Evil 1954 Henry Hathaway. Junto al gran Gary Cooper. Broken Lance Edward Dmytryk. Otro gran western junto al gran Spencer Tracy. The Last Wagon 1956 Delmer Daves. The Law and Jake Wade John Sturges. Buen western junto al gran Robert Taylor. Warlock 1959 Edward Dmytryk. Un gran western con impresionante reparto. Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda y Anthony Quinn. Two Rode Together 1961 John Ford. Junto al gran James Stewart. How the West Was Won 1962 John Ford, Henry Hathaway y George Marshall. Alvarez Kelly 1966 Edward Dmytryk. Otro interesante western junto al gran William Holden. Otras interesantes películas. Judgment at Nuremberg 1961 Stanley Kramer. Murder on the Orient Express 1974. To the Devil a Daughter 1976 Peter Sykes. Twilight's Last Gleaming 1977 Robert Aldrich. Interesante película junto al gran Burt Lancaster. Rollercoaster 1977 James Goldstone. Kiss of Death 1947 Henry Hathaway. The Alamo 1960 John Wayne.
Epic post Marco, cheers. A Hollywood legend. I watched Widmark recently in The Long Ships with Sidney Poitier. My favorites of his films include - The Bedford Incident, The Alamo, The Last Wagon, The Law and Jake Wade, How the West Was Won and Twilights Last Gleaming. Thanks again for posting!

I know so people that will like this update. #50 Yeah The Swarm makes the cut....campy fun. #35...wow all the way to Alvarez Kelly for the next match.....decent western #31 Garden of Evil...surprised this is so low...great cast #30 Don't Bother To Knock....a very unusual role for Monroe #27 Halls of Montz....one of his first starring roles #25 The Cobweb....slow movie...was going to be the 4th James Dean movie #20 The Law and Jake Wade....twice this week you give this movie some love #19 Coma....nice thriller #16 Warlock...great underrated western #14 Madigan....his last great starring role? #13 The Alamo....better than some people say #12 Yellow Sky....one of my favorite Widmark movies #9 Broken Lance...One of Widmark's best acting performances #8 Murder on the Widmark Express...fun movie #7 Pickup on South Street....great Widmark movie #6 The Bedford Incident...I like it but do not love it #4 Night and City...cult classic #3 HTWWW...small role in epic movie #2 Panic In The Streets...love this one #1 Judgement at Nuremberg....what a cast.....he is great in movie...but Lancaster (he never gets credit for this movie) steals the show in my mind. So that is 20 or 40%....no where near some other tallies...but not too bad. Voted up and shared.
Hi Bruce, thanks again for the comment, vote and share, it is appreciated. 20 out of 50 is good, I managed 24 and Flora has seen 44, as much as both our tallies combined. I hate seeing Nuremberg no.1 on some charts, it's not a pleasant film to watch, but it is highly rated. "Murder on the Widmark Express" nice. Johnny Depp played the same role in Branagh's recent remake, not a big role but it is important. My rating for Garden of Evil is only a bit lower than yours, you gave it 6.8 and mine was 6.4.

One of my favorites. First time I saw him act...I was like yeah....he's definitely a keeper. Handsome too.

Watched him recently in The Bedford Incident, he was riveting as the obsessed, humorless Destroyer captain.
