I love how Nitendo didn’t even take a moment to realise that inklings can’t be in water..

I believe what it is in the lore, is that Inklings can interact with water but only in certain respects(like drinking and whatnot) this is due to what happened before humans went extinct
(because that did happen in the splatoon world) they elevated the sea levels due to global warming and they caused the water to become irradiated somehow, so all of the sea life tried to escape to the few available landmasses left and the water became toxic to them. But their water became toxic to them, not the water in Mario Kart. So technically they can be in this water.

I was a kart guy in MKWII then a bike guy in MK8(probs because of link with the master cycle) then I went back to karts in MK8D(probs because of inkling with the splat buggy). I’m a big fan of new characters and their stock vehicles, what can I say😂
