Beethoven is so beautiful. The music always comes out. Congrats to the musicians for performing devoting themselves to such a wonderful work of art. The sixteenths played by the string musicians just before the cadenza sent shivers up my spine! Congrats all!
A strange performance by the Stanford Symphony, only partly conducted by Anna Wittstruck, who left a large section of violins to their own devices, as she basically waved her baton to the right, and to the rhythm of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61. Chen Zhao though, proved an exceptional violinist as soloist.
