Haha, Thanks Thomas! Finding the replacement parts was actually a bit if a bear, I guess not too many people tear them down. Hopefully will put it back together next week. Thanks for watching!
Great video! I completely agree with you, always save, refurbish, reuse and or purpose whatever parts you can. Stuff is getting hard to find and expensive!
@@DustorBust I am into my wheel for $80. They leather stitched it on the inside and unless you look close you can’t even tell. Plus the wheel is much easier to grip now
Nice! I will keep that in mind for sure. You definitely beat me on cost, but so far I have not had to put too much into it. Some wheels are pretty cheap, hopefully it looks good in place, tbc.
I was debating on breaking mine down but after seeing this I think I will. Enjoying the videos! The end results are going to be well worth the effort! 🤘🏼🔧
Great video! I'm changing my auto column to a manual column. I found a junkyard manual truck and now I'm switching everything. Watching your vid and taking pics along the way. Where to buy new bearings?
Hi John, glad the video was helpful!! Finding bearings was a bit of a pain. Eventually I was able to track them down. Here are the part numbers and where I bought them: CHR2265656 / 2925491 from Detroit Muscle Technologies; MOP-04147318 from Summit. I finally got around to installing this past week and both bearings fit correctly in mine. Good Luck!
Great Video Marcus! Just did all this to my RR that coupler suuuuuucks when the time comes to attach it to the steering box it all falls apart and is a mess. I know people say they don't work but I got the "Coupler CLAMP" from eBay $15 and it held everything together alot better! Worked for me. Good luck man and what ever you do don't ever hit the steering shaft ends with a hammer trying to get them in place to reattach your c clamp they will collapse on ya....don't ask how I know lol
Hey Ruben, thanks for the tip buddy! Thanks for watching. I am a bit behind on your content, but I saw you are killing it lately. Awesome growth, congrats!
To repair the under dash or steering wheel plastic peace you could try the super glue and baking soda trick. I’ve done it on some plastic parts before with good results.
I got to find one for my 71 it’s Mitch matched were you put key in it’s prob from a 73 or so to. Big the also I’m putting a quarter stick don’t want the prn123
Cold not use the info here, the speeded up disassembly just went to fast to see the process, and what parts go where, my problem not yours!hope it turned out great!
Hi Tony, sorry it went too fast. Thanks for the feedback. I am working on the rebuild video, I will be sure to add some diagrams. Probably won't be out in time to help you, but can hopefully help some others. Thanks for watching!
Hi, yeah this one came out a little too fast. It is a struggle to find the right mix of detail without taking too long and being boring. Sorry it was too fast, at some point soon I will post the reassembly and will be sure to call out more detail. Thanks for the feedback.
The high speed disassembly made the video completely worthless, really needed piece by piece disassembly with explanation!!! Sure it turned out well!! Please next time,go slow,I piece at a time!!! Thank you!
Wow Marcos! Your bold taking that all apart. I liked seeing it taken apart-interesting

Awesomeness!!! Most people throw em away and get a new one!!!
Thanks Iron Horse! Trying to find the darn bearings for it, starting to see why people buy new 😂.

For sure, and I do love the look of some of the original stuff too. Good to customize, but equally good original. And parts are crazy expensive. 😆
@@DustorBust yo do you know the size of the jam nut for the steering wheel ?
@Robert Salcido I would just go to lowes and use their bolt and nut gauge. Hopefully you still have the old one. If not- get a thread and pitch gauge.
Hey from 1980 Vette, great video.
Hey Jim, thanks buddy!
What I did for my wheel was fill cracks with resin. Sanded it nice and then had a local upholstery shop wrap it with leather. It looks so good
Nice idea! I was not sure how to fix all those cracks. I better hold onto this one after all. More options for the future! Thanks buddy!

Thanks B Dubs, I have not heard of this before. I will have to search for it. Thanks for the tip!
@@DustorBust think you can find some videos of it on here.
Plastex, cool I will look for it! This helps for sure, I was not sure what terms exactly to search for. Thanks! 👍
