I am with you, I love this car and I made the mistake to test drive one recently. I say is a mistake because I can't afford it, but the sales man thought that offering me that candy will make me purchase it... Again, can't afford it and now I only think on that and how crappy my car feels in comparison. The car is smooth as butter (specially in the limited trim), the V6 engine feels like is hugging you and letting you know that everything is going to be fine... I mean... Really awesome car!

I've had my 2019 Avalon Limited Hybrid for a week now, and LOVE everything about it! Harbor Gray Metalic with light gray interior. I drove a V-6 also, and honestly, the hybrid has all the power and pickup anyone could need driving this car. It is amazing! The safety features like lane assist and RCTA are great, as well as the Blind Spot Monitor. I'm still having a little issue figuring out the audio/phone details, but that's on me. Time and practice will cure that. I highly recommend this vehicle!

Does it feel cheap inside? I bought my 2014 Avalon in 2014 brand new and it looks and feels great but the inside felt cheapish and the plastic cracked when going through bumps. How is this avalon?

Yourteamsucks - wow. I’ve had my 2013 Limited Avalon and had no issues with noise going over bumps. The car was perfectly quiet. In fact, my current 2019 Audi A6 which cost 25k more, makes turning into steep inclines driveways where the body flexes. Not the Avalon. And materials was great as well. Not cheap looking at all. Do you have the Limited trim? Bc the materials are different between Limited and Premium.

I test drove one of these the other day. I'm not really a car guy. I prefer full size trucks and SUV's, but I'd definitely drive this car!! It is one fine automobile!! I drove a black one with the interior like this one. I was blown away and very impressed. Kinda like a Toyota Mercedes. It was also very reasonably priced compared to other brands with this level of luxury.

Just bought one of these in the ruby red. OMG but she's beautiful. Been driving an Avalon I bought new in '03 and I'm quite impressed with all the latest bells and whistles! I'm in love with the Avalon all over again. The '03 has over 200,000 miles on her and still purrs like a kitten and rides like butter. Dealer wanted to give me a $1000 trade in; I declined. People who buy and keep their luxury cars tell you two things, they take care of them and they last over time. My '03 is still going, going...

Thank you, Mike for the great intro to the Avalon. The professional videographers and photographers mainly shoot their videos/pictures during cloudy days when the light contrast is not too big. Since you are shooting in auto exposure mode, the camera decides for you and things go they way you do not want them. In addition to cloudy day try to shoot during the golden hours - largely before 9 am and after 5 pm depending on the season and your geo location. Good luck.

Just bought this car 2 days ago. Gave up a 2014 Cadillac CTS-Vsport. That Caddy was a twin-turbo go-devil but it was beginning to show its GM-NESS. Darn thing needed timing chains, solenoids, the interior CUE system was like trying to do calculus. I've never seen an infotainment system so confusing. I'm not here to bag on Cadillac. The car was fast and reliable until it needed something. And then it started needing something all the time. I bought a brand new 2007 Avalon way back and it was one of the finest vehicles I've ever owned. It was only an XL version but the thing was loaded w/ 6-disc cd changer, moonroof, the only thing missing were leather seats. I drove that thing 96 miles one-way to work for 3 years. Never did anything but preventive maintenance. I sold it in 2013 for an Acura. time flies as I've driven 2 Acura's since. This Avalon, I have a Limited Hybrid version, too, is the best damn vehicle I ever had. All the while getting 40 mpg. I looked at a Lexus and said "why bother"? I have this exact same interior as shown in the video. I'm 6ft 3 and can roll all day in this thing. Gonna update her with a tire/wheel package. People still ask me if it's a Lexus. Folks, save your money. Trust me, this Avalon will suffice.

Great review, Mike, though I was hoping you would have said a bit more about the windshield wipers. I just picked up my 2019 Avalon Limited, Wind Chill Pearl with white leather interior. One of the first things I noticed is that, unlike the 2016 Avalon Limited that I traded in, the 2019 does not have rain-sensing wipers. It has intermittent wipers, and something Toyota calls "speed-sensing" wipers, which I guess changes speeds depending on the speed of the car.

The ES Ultra Luxury gets you a lot more than you may think compared to the Avalon:
      - 17 Speaker Mark Levinson Stereo (vs 14 Speaker JBL Clari-Fi)
      - the fully powered open/close trunk with hand-free kick feature
      - Auto Heated/Ventilated seats
      - Auto Heated Leather/wood Steering Wheel
      - Huge panoramic sunroof
      - Traffic sign recognition on safety feature
      - Auto Rain detecting wipers
      - Power rear sunshade, with manual sunshade on sides
      - 12-in infotainment screen (vs 9-in touchscreen infotainment)
      - full digital dashboard
      - with optional: noise reducing 18-in wheels and triple beams HD LED headlights.
Total price difference btw fully loaded Avalon (~41k) vs fully loaded ES (~48k). Are all those things worth the extra 7k difference? Up to you.

That was a style look from decades ago, but today, pinstripes only mars the appearance of a car's clean design and intended sculptural lines. It is such a passe (out-of-date) look. Looking at Avalon limited Hybrid back to back with Lexus ES300H. To get the real leather, audio, and options in the Lexus, I have to get the Luxury trim at $50,000+! Or I can get most all the luxury trim in the Avalon limited for $45,000....and local dealer has them discounted to $38,000. Lexus won’t discount. I’ll
keep the $20k and never look back knowing I have same engine, same suspension, and luxury appointed options in the limited.

I'm not liking my 22 corolla le because of the cvt transmission, it's not reliable over the next few years so I would trade it for the avalon

I wonder how long it will be until we see an all electric Avalon OR a Hybrid 'Prime' variant. I like to see at least a Prime variant in the next couple years where you could use an electric engine for at 75 miles/120km but still have the gas engine for longer distances.
