I watched the full ep and the whole situation with this choreo is wild to me - it’s latrices choreo, which is why it suits her the best, but they all VOTED FOR IT. and they voted for it because they thought it was “too simple and easy to steal” but clearly none of them realised how difficult the style is to master and perform. And then when obviously latrice performs it the best they complain about it being unfair because of they way she looks. They had the opportunity to pick a different dance and didn’t - it’s not latrices fault lmao
Crazy… I can agree with you on this! I’m always a “if you choose it, then you live with it” mentality 😂
They tried to do what season 1 tried with Noze. They thought they could out-dance her because the choreo was "easy". But it didn't work
I can’t wait to get to that part of season 1 myself!
correct me if I’m wrong, I saw the episode, didn’t Mnet cut the part that Redlic cried and talked about Lala’s physical? Like what is Mnet doing, we saw it already in the teaser lol
@@camilauzcategui2155 right? not sure why they would cut it unless it's because of the huge drama it stirred up.
I'm a little late to comment, but I very much appreciate your thoughts on the Redlic/Latrice situation. As the microagression it was, as a curvy black woman, I immediately picked up on where Redlic's comments were coming from. But I loved you pointing out that at the end of the day, it's showing her incompetency in a certain style of dancing and then her choice to project that against another person instead of just quietly taking the time to learn, practice and improve
Thank you for your supportive and encouraging comment. As a teacher myself I get this comment from my own students sometimes (not in a micro aggression way but as a cultural ignorant way if that makes sense!) and im able to use those moments as teaching opportunities to grow them. Difference between my students and these dancers here are my students are children and here they are professionals… very different in regards to responsibilities of the role.
Thank you again for sharing your perspective ❤️ means a lot!
Latrice vs Sayaka was my both picks, even though I know in the end Latrice bodied this more. It would've been more interesting to see Sayaka and her.
I would honestly agree with you with that!
latrice ate all them up like the way she moves is so appealing
She was LIVING in that pocket!!
Great commentary regarding the "groove theory". Unbiased and respectful. Word
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad I was able to be helpful!
thank you for addressing the redlic and latrice situation, your take was great. KEEP THE VIDS COMING
Thank you for the encouraging words!! It’s definitely a more sensitive area in the industry in general, but I feel it’s important to discuss!
Latrice vs Sayaka would've been interesting.
I would 100% agree with this!
tbh im so happy latrice got it because she BODIED it. i really liked lusher’s version as well (blue shirt from bebe) because of the vibe she gives off, but that’s just a personal opinion LOL. i also think sayaka did really well and i loved her version too! but in the end this was a clear win for latrice.
She was FABULOUS 🔥🔥
she does! so happy latrice paired with her on a section, they killed it
i really love watching your reactions and hearing your commentaries. it was all on point. it made me understand their perfomances more and learn something knew.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Means a lot!
@@jess_holyfield you're welcome!
Can you analyze the unaired battles too please? So many good battles that they left out especially Emma krumping
They are on the schedule to be released this week!
You said so right! Many details can see that is Latrice better than Redlic. 😊 And the song is more suitable for fresh, light steps. Others are a little sexy and flirtatious, so it doesn't go that way😅
Exactly!!! It was great Choreo from latrice and difficult to do well!!
brilliant analysis. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I really loved your videos and I learned a lot as well ❤️❤️
I’m so glad that they have been helpful !
if you dont mind. could you upload them in the same order you watch/film these? i feel like it makes the videos more enjoyable cus its like im watching with you lmao
Thank you for the suggestion! So I film a batch at a time and try to upload them in the order I watch, but sometimes TH-cams upload speeds change depending on the length of the video! What I can do is try to make the playlist for this season in the order I watched for easier viewing!
yesss thatd be so nice thank you. i figured you did bc your past videos had been in order so i was kinda thrown off lol@@jess_holyfield
I promise I'll get it together haha!!@@Kevin-hq3ur
ngl they all said latrice's choreo didn't fit and was the easiest, especially redlic, but then i looked at their choreo and redlic's choreo especially and... it wasn't that good lmao i don"t think having the lyrics helped them
I definitely think Latrice's is one of the toughest ones to replicate for sure!
From what I've seen in the show, it is shocking anyone thought this choreo would be easy. I think sometimes people forget execution matters and not just doing the choreography.
Latrice's choreo may have seemed "simple" but I think she was the only one who was consistent throughout the whole thing.
I will say I actually liked the girl with the pigtails. She had a nice vibe about her so she was my vote for the Top 2. However, from the beginning it was no question who would come out on top. Latrice made that choreo pop from beginning to end.
I will say the content was more intermediate, but the groove is the hard part. A lot of people undermine the importance of proper grooving in a particular pocket of music, so I’m glad Latrice got the opportunity to showcase that strength of hers!
Sayaka❤️
body lines while dancing also need to practice, i think redlic forget that
I think she started to get fatigued around the callback time, because from what I saw of her first run through, it had great choices!
I love Redric from Manequeen
I like her choices of movement! I’m hopeful to see her growth and moments throughout the season!
Coming from a black girl, I didn't take Redlic's comments as offensive or racist. I've seen a lot of people take it that way. But to me, with a slim body who aspires to learn a variety of dance, I did find this disappointing.
I really respect all of the participants in this season. And I thought Redlic did great. I loved her nuance in the choreo. But she gave 90% thinking it was 100%.
We ALL have room for improvement. We all have experience to gain. I just wish she took the loss as a learning experience and a starting point for a new genre of dance.
Thanks for the reaction. Your take on the situation was really mature and clear :)
Thank you so much for your perspective! It is much appreciated! I completely agree with you 10000% on this!!
Yeah, absolutely. Latrice and Redlic's conflict was just Mnet's evil edit. Redlic's choreo are so detailed and all sub leaders respect her choreo. But they didn't choose her choreo because Latrice's choreo was simple. The only thing Redlic's objected to was that Latrice had prepared a choreo that was too simple, lacking in detail and not paying attention to the lyrics. So Redlic didn't use any racist words
Tsubakills's dancer also say she didn't understand the lyrics, but she used translator
@@yusifrehimov7936 I think Mnet edited out the whole part that was teased about Redlic’s comment when she was crying, which I get it, is to avoid controversy but at the end of the day I think the important thing is that the mission will be good with all this talented dancers, I just hope Mnet don’t try to turn it on Lala after that episode 3 trailer
@@yusifrehimov7936 Well no it's the comments on her body that was being called racist. Honestly if you're not black and not someone who naturally has a curvier figure you're simply not gonna get what people mean. I do think what we saw from redlic in the preview was sorta microagressive, Latrice even cried over it so I don't think in this case you can just sum everything up as "evil editing" when someone was genuinely effected. She made at the very least an unfair and distasteful comment and that's just the truth of it and its why viewers picked up on it. Black people in sports or dance often have to hear about "unfair advantages" simply because of their build and the way their bodies are and not only does it completely discredit the talent and work people have put in to get to that level of their craft but it can be embarrassing and almost dehumanizing to have something like that said about you especially amongst a group of people. It''s likely redlic didn't intend to be that way or it may not mean she's this horrible evil person but I do think it's not fair to also just act like she wasn't in the wrong for the comment when Latrice actually ended up being hurt over it.
Here are my thoughts on the episode regarding this group:
Redlic’s choreo suited the song better and how she interprets the song in her moves. However, Latrice’s choreo doest much suit this rnb ish style of song and also how she did not make an effort to translate the lyrics so she could understand it. Tsubakill translated the song so they could understand the song better and interpret it better to produce a better choreo. I think that is why they are kind of mad of latrice cause she did not more effort on her part, also when she was teaching this choreo she forgets a lot of times which made it harder for the other teams to copy her choreo and she does not even know the countings in her song. For me as a dancer I understand the other dancers why they are kind of mad cause it’s a competition and seeing someone who does not put that much effort is disrespectful somehow cause memorizing your own choreo and understanding the song are like the bare minimums as a choreographer.
On the other hand, I hoped that they could have chosen what they think was the best or coolest which they agreed that the coolest was redlic’s but they have chosen latrice’s choreo since it “looked” simple. In latrice’s choreo, it focuses more on the lower body which gave latrice more advantage since she does control her lower body the best among the group therefore winning the main dancer position
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective! I haven’t had a chance to see the other choreographies but I will say, if they chose Latrice’s Choreo, they chose what came with that 😂 if they didn’t have a choice or if they even chose Redlics Choreo, the same challenges would be faced (the choreographer has a higher chance of doing the choreography the way it’s intended vs any others!) but all in all I hope we see more chances of Redlics work showcased!
I completely agree, but mnet edits out a lot and puts together narratives so tbh I just try to not pay much attention to the discussions highlighted in the show bc must of them are probably just normal conversations or constructive criticism and the way that is edited makes it look way worse and dramatic
Yes to this
This translating narrative is annoying. If you need to always rely in translating the song to be able to dance and choreograph while ignoring the groove, rhythm and musicality, are you really a good dancer?
Exactly, it's a cop out. The lyrics are "click like, click like, ooo I want to see. Click like, click like, ooh, I want you, to this rhythm, oh, sway, always. Click, click like double, we'll be untouchable, Click, click our curves, fantasy, chemistry, yeah. To this rhythm, oh, sway, always"
People are trying to make it sound like there's some grand meaning behind it 🥴Just say you think she didn't deserve to have her dance chosen and you don't think she should've been chosen as the main dancer.
