When tracking blood trails (or foot tracks), you actually don’t have to look down sights (or binoculars) to drop a mark. I just drop as I’m walking. This is a great techique when following tracks to discover need zones. If I lose sight, I just go back to my mark to pick up the trail again.
A very good read you touched on ninety percent of what it takes to be successful in game. I'm surprised you don't have more sub's.If I may add release your call after making it to hear the response each time , 300 yards is the magic number no sound no calling no identification until you hit 300 yd's And if you have the opportunity circle above them keeping them insight .And you nailed the most important one of all patience . Good hunting my friend .
I find photo mode useful when you’re within 100 yards. It helps me look at the antlers to see with one out of the (young bucks mostly) heard has worst genetics
Good video, good tips! Just got this game a week ago. Do you have any tips for using the hunting stands? I've tried a couple of them with no luck. Got there around 4:30 am, climbed the stand, and was quiet. Waited. And waited. And waited. Waited till around noon, and no game ever showed up. No badgers, deer, fox, nothing.
I don’t use stands unless they’re near “often” need zones. The best way to ensure initial contact is the scout out all six need zones and noting the “often” (vice “rarely”) zones. This is best done by following their tracks (which i find kind of fun). Then using the encyclopedia find out the animals daily cycle and position yourself between zones they’ll be moving between. I have heard somewhere that taking down animals in their need zones increases hunting pressure, so probably best to try and take them down somewhere between.
Go to the stand right before drink times. I’ve gotten multiple whitetail n mule by getting to the stand at 8am and waiting til 9 if the stand is by water
As some have mentioned, stands are only good when the need zones nearby are currently being used often. If you pressure the same species needs zones further away the herd will end up moving their pattern to use the need zones further away. This game is persistent so if you pay attention to where the herd or flock run to you can often times fast travel that way and ambush them at the need zone they fled too I use this all the time when hunting waterfowl it's pretty awesome actually
I'm stuck on the first mission after the badger, kill a deer. I keep sleeping and hunting and missing. I don't know if I'll ever be able to move on. Thanks for the help.
Hey! If you're talking about this mission: Which one has a white butt - Harvest a mule deer or a white-tail deer Your best bet is to head over to the river mouth grassland/river area (about 3.5 KM south of the starting cabin) where there are plenty of them to target. For the shooting, make sure your scope is zeroed in to the distance from the animal, then aim above the crease behind the front leg. Should hit the heart, lung or arteries that way. Also make sure you're using a level 5 or 6 rifle. If tracking blood is the problem, try hunting feed zones in that area (5 am) or drinking zones (9 am). The lower the sun the more visible the blood trails are. Let me know if this helped, or if it's the correct mission. Happy Hunting!
@@oldmanmcgamer2556 I spooked the deer getting to the 1st stand. Climb the stand. Looked down. There was a dead deer. The game gave me the deer and I moved on. 😆
When you press the "hold breath" button with hunter sense on you'll see a red dot appear that tells you where the bullet is likely to hit with windage and everything figured in you can theoretically hit all ranges and animals without zeroing if you consider that, I'd say take your time and make sure your shot placement is in the triangle behind the front legs elbow you are almost guaranteed to get a double lung or double lung and heart shot using that method when the deer ducks your still in the lungs if it doesnt duck you're getting a lung heart shot.

I’d rather be lucky than good. 😂
