ba55letmysoulfly Right I’ve randomly been finding these I legit am considering going to Korea to teach! It’s just funny how old these videos I’m finding are ... makes me feel really late.😂
+Cory May that's super cool, I hope when I start my adventures in Korea I can get a place like this or find a roommate or whatever, thanks for this video by the way!
+caziontherise Being Korean-American and who's been to Korea a bunch of times, you don't have to worry about corrupt cops or scammers. Yea, you'll hear stories about pick pocketers and people who'll try to sell you stuff that you don't need, but that's common no matter what country you go to. It's up to you to make sure to have some awareness and common sense to not expose yourself. Bottom line, you'll be fine in Korea. I'll be teaching in Korea next Friday and I'm super excited!
***** I'll be in Cheongju. I took the hagwon route so I'll have to stay on my toes lol. You're right about hagwons scamming teachers on their exit allowance. I see this topic come up quite frequently in other TH-cam videos, but I'm going to trust my recruiter and give my hagwon the benefit of the doubt.
You have a very soft soothing voice. What a wonderful picture window! I would love to lay in bed and watch a thunderstorm. Yes..you were lucky to get that Western style bathroom. Very nice place, thank you for the tour.
I live in Brooklyn NY and these "officetel " apartment's are very similar to what I am living in right now but in new York their called either "studio's " or "kitchenette's "
I really loved the sleeping loft like that when I lived in Japan, but the stairs you have look WAY better than the rickety ladder I had! I had bruises on my legs for the longest time from the sides of my ladder. I really wish I could find an apartment with this sort of layout here in NYC, but all our small apartments try to be "luxury" units for rich people from Long Island to send their kids to NYU, rather than comfortable residences for normal single people. Sigh, I miss Asia.
Yeah, it was pretty nice. The school also gave $300 as a welcoming gift to help buy any things I needed for the house. I just kept the money since the apt already came with everything. ^^
You've got an absolutely fantastic apartment. Great video. You really stocked up on the K-food. Good! It was great how you pointed out the "TP" too. lol
Chris Molindinar I have not forgotten about Japan. Of course I will live there one day. I'm just saying, there was an opportunity to live in south Korea, I would take it. But I still love Japan.
Hi! I've seen several apartments and they look almost the same, some of them have the washer machine in the same kitchen under the stove, others have the shower with no doors. I think these places have everything one needs to live comfortably, and I looooove the window and the view! Nice place!
Great apartment video! I had a place exactly like this back in Daejeon. Thanks for the upload. I see that you failed to add some commentary on the empty "D" beer bottles you had in the corner! lol
What's great about your video is that you have steady hands. You instinctly know when to make the focus short or long (for example, you show the contents of ref as a whole, not item by item). Also your personality is great though I don't know how you look except that you said you're 6 ft tall. You don't try to be cute, you have positive attitude, you have ease and confidence even when you make a mistake, and you adjust well to your surroundings (a loft half your height). Don't worry, I'm not crushing on you. I'm a retired trainer-educator by profession and giving feedback helps to build self-esteem. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼
Thanks for the in-depth analysis. hehehe Glad you were able to enjoy the video, despite my ramblings and stuffy nose. You can watch any of my other videos to know what I look like. This one was filmed in early 2013. ^^
Thank you so much for the amazing video ! It's my dream to visit korea soon and It's wonderful to see what it's like living in a korean apartment! Fighting !! :)
Wow! Where did you get the tiger blanket? It's so cool! Also, what an efficient and cozy studio... I absolutely love the huge window and the loft area :)
I have to say that being in America cooking with gas we don't have that valve to switch off the gas to the cooktop after your done cooking which i think is a great and safe idea
That is the best apartment IV seen yet it's huge but I Dident know it was free !! Teachers get free apartments when they come to teach there wow what a deal .id never leave
I kind of miss living in this place. I moved out in December 2014. The views were the best I've ever had in my life! Too bad you can't really see it in this video. If you go to my Instagram (@feedthecory) and you scroll wayyyyy back to 2013/2014, there are many pics of the amazing mountain and city views.
Hi Cory...thanks for all the Info.... that view in your old apartment is amazing!...You mentioned in the video that you had not used your under floor heating at all..How come?..I taught that would be essential!?...especially in the colder months!?....I am planning on making the big move in September to Korea myself to teach English and i am guessing it will be pretty cold when I arrive!... I am nervous, excited & curious about all things Korean! (: lol
***** Aaah that makes sense (: That,s not so bad with the weather either. At least I wont be walking into a snow blizzard! lol...Thanks for your reply mate, and I will be sure to keep in touch closer to leaving!..Would be great to meet for a cold one (: P.S really enjoying your walking tour videos etc.....Keep up the good work (: SLAINTE
Must be nice, it's a small apartment yet it's got all of the necessities (plus more thanks to the other teachers!). I was home sick alot when I left the U.S to go visit family members for the first time. I wonder if adults/English teachers get home sick while they're in Korea.
I actually really liked your video and your bed and your living room is AWESOME! Wathcing this makes me want to start teaching Korean even though I probably won't get the same kind of apartment. ..but man that bed! Lol
I'm just wondering, what kind of teaching experience/qualifications did you have before getting a job with SMOE? I've heard they might be pretty strict in that department, and I wasn't sure if I should apply.
Sweet place! I'm planning on teaching English in Korea. I hope to catch the March 2016 departures with EPIK. If I don't get accepted with them (because I heard it's become more competitive), then I'll go with the recruiter route. Either way, my heart and mind is set on doing this. If I do manage to teach within the EPIK program, what can I expect when it comes to location and quality of apartment? Like you, it doesn't really matter much to me since it'll hopefully be free and my goal will be to budget adamantly (but enjoying the experience as well, which costs a little here and there). Do you have any choice in location with EPIK or is it random? Any other tips? Oh, and how well in advance should I start gathering documents if I'm aiming for March departure with EPIK?
*lol* I'm glad I'm not the only one who posted a super long video of my apartment! I'm jealous, though! That is a really SWEET place! I just happened across this video, and I intend to check out some of the other videos you said you had on here later. Do you still live in Seoul, or did you leave after your contract ended?
***** You're welcome! What kind of stuff have you found/gotten into since you arrived? I am a newbie to Korea, I live down in the Bundang area, and I'm really looking to find neat stuff off the beaten path. I love to explore, and find cool, new places! Any suggestions?
Great Apt by the way. one thing missing.. No TV?, lol how do you check your forecast in the morning besides looking out your window or entertainment at home?
man that must of been hard i dont mind small apartments just dont like alot of people taking all the space. and i will keep watching then these videos are really interesting and cool i cant wait for the rain video then it would be beautiful hitting those large windows :D
Daaaaaaaaamn, that is a nice apartment! I wonder how much they pay for it since it's in Seoul. My apartment is decent, but no where near as large as yours. My landlord and his wife live on the floor above me, which is a bit weird. They're really down-to-earth and kind, though, so all is good. Congrats on the sweet place! :D
nice apt! 👍 btw, pampers wipes are equally for adults here in 🇺🇸, as with babies... same reasons.😉 pampers, huggies, doesn't matter, have plenty in each bathroom. guests appreciate it too. 😁 maybe it's not "a thing" in S Korea yet...?
THIS APARTMENT IS AMAZINGGG!!!!! I know I am young (sophomore in undergrad), but I am really considering teaching in korea afterwards! I have been watching a variety of videos with different apts and this is the best. What is the program you went to and how did you get this one!? Also I love Korea. I went last summer and fell in love!!!
I liked your video, I plan to teach in Korea next year, i was wondering how i can guaranty i obtain an apartment like yours, is it location, or do you choose your own place? I'd appreciate any info.
I love your apartment! Could you put up curtains or blinds for privacy though? If I were living there, I'd want some privacy for dressing and a way to keep the light out on weekends so I could sleep in. :3
This video was from 2013. Anyway, the apartment was on the 14th floor. No one can see into the apt. Nothing like standing naked in front of the window everyday knowing no one can even see you. ^^

I know this is an old video, but this is one of the better teacher apt tour I have seen.
I agree! Its a great apartment
+Marit Aurin ARMY
definitely
This is an ideal officetel/ living area for me, I like smaller spaces because larger spaces leave too much room for error.
+Cory May that's super cool, I hope when I start my adventures in Korea I can get a place like this or find a roommate or whatever, thanks for this video by the way!
It's nice to have a apartment with lot of things left behind, you are blessed
I wouldn't mind living in a place like this in America. This would be nice for university.
This apartment is everything! Best apartment in Korea for an English teacher that I've seen on TH-cam so far lol 👏👏👏🙌👍
That's funny. A teacher has a cheat sheet.
bruh, that is a killer apartment
+Cory May I was thinking of moving to Thailand but the cops are corrupt and so many scams. Any scams to speak of in Korea

+jlee562 Great cause those taxi and jetski scams really deterred me from going to Thailand. Have you heard of them.l
+caziontherise oh yea, you'll find them in Korea too. They'll basically try to sell you a "grand tour" of whatever city you're in.

This is one amazing apartment. The loft and the Huge window...like OMG!!
You were pretty lucky that the other teacher left so many things behind for you to have. Saved you a lot of money.
Yeah, it was pretty nice. The school also gave $300 as a welcoming gift to help buy any things I needed for the house. I just kept the money since the apt already came with everything. ^^
Thanks for posting this detailed tour. Looking to move to SK soon. You have a great apartment!
badass apartment
cool
You've got an absolutely fantastic apartment. Great video. You really stocked up on the K-food. Good! It was great how you pointed out the "TP" too. lol
What a cute little space! And a lot of storage -- more than in a Japanese studio apt.
SO COOL.
I like it. I have always wondered how it looks.
:( I want to go to korea!
Thanks for the video.
That is a fantastic apartment! But you had me LOL at the unstable table!
One of the best apartments I've seen! Looks awesome!
Going to Korea for two years. Thank you for the well detail video.
That loft is a seller point for me!!! I want to go to Korea but, now I want to live there because of that apartment. Very nice my friend.

Nice apartment, Corey. From what I've seen, you're one of the lucky ones with all of that space. ;)
lovely apartment very cozy for u :D and that view must be great rain or shine
