People ask, they want to get in my business, know the reals but they can't handle it and then they don't listen either because I don't wrap up my personal stuff like it's something to be excited about. I give warning, I'm considerate, I try protect myself, and almost always and especially with the people that so called love me the most and stand so firm about how nothing I can say will make them go away, they'll always be there, etc. So I start... but I'm not even in my first paragraph before I get interrupted , dismissed, ignored and poof they're gone and I'm left with the dissapointment and the hurt and the frustration of feeling like if I even date to open my diary and try share something real with someone else, I'll lose them. So I keep it there. And people don't know me. When they ask how I am, I just say I'm still breathing. Guess what, that's good enough for them. So is I'm struggling, or I'm not ok, or I'm in pain and want to give up. Not good enough at all. The truth isn't good enough. But people think it's okay to poke me so much for an answer convenient only for them? That's not anyone's privilege anymore. Don't ask if you don't want to know or if you've got some kind of back up plan to suddenly just leave my life because we'll I don't even know why. Then I'm alone and if they feel their conscience weighing they chuck something material in my face like I'm some charity case who doesn't matter? so I push away the people who I truly believed loved me, and I take that hurt and stuff it into my diary and sit with it because it's the only thing that knows me for real and because of that will keep me company. Then I get asked if I need anything, I say I need company. After that there's a silence that lasts so long that I feel like I was locked in a cage alone with weights and dropped into the deep ocean. So I keep it to myself and let them believe their own lies and assumptions about how I am and what I'm going through and who I am. Like I don't matter. I won't beg. I'm no one's slave. But nobody should dare shed a single tear if I'm no longer available to be there for them to abandon again. I'll just leave my diary. Then they're welcome to take a look. Otherwise, yeah, get out my diary and don't think for a minute I'll let you in so that you can break my soul. No ways. I'll do me, be me, be true, and hopefully someday also be free.
