Been stacking for somewhat longer than your good self - my first Gold 1 oz cost me £373! That was from Chards and I have not sold that one yet. Others from the same era and price however have been sold for an excellent profit - as you clearly state Buy low, sell high!
Started with gold 16 years ago but gave up on silver about 12 years ago. It's performed so poorly compared to gold which has gone gang busters from £575/oz in '08 to £1608 today. Huge central banks accumulate gold not silver.
Totally agree I love silver but for investment and possible future profits I stick to gold, only time I buy silver is if I like a design of the coin and if it’s a good price.
your videos are very informative and I love your rambles! lol my plan, starting stacking, was simpley as a way of saving that would protect me from myself!. making it hard for me to spend what I'm saving! and fingers crossed I might make a few quid at the end! but I'm reallyenjoying the ride learning about these beautiful coins! thank you!
Well said. I love Atkinson as they are fair with prices sometimes cheaper even than TSF. I do belive when it comes to Silver you realy need a lot of patience and don't know why but it s also more addicted than gold. Thanks for sharing😊
@@BackyardBullion I have decided to start investing I am newbie but I don’t want to get stuck with something and loose heavily but also treat it as long term investment? I have been watch all your videos and found it incredibly valuable. I looked on the Royal Mint website and decided it was too much of Gamble and when it came to sell eventually I probably would only break even.
@@BackyardBullion Many thanks on that one of your other videos mentioned few dealers and will have a chat. What are your thoughts on eBay is it good or bad? Thanks for your reply 👍
as usual really good and informative video. like that you write the value and date you paid for coins. Keep up the good work !!!! also good that you dispel the nuclear apocalypse theory regards silver. PS cant believe that viewers moan when you offer great deals from dealers ( just because the video was sponsored )
Silver arrived today BYB . Thankyou once again!!! I had to laugh that you have had people complaining that you are getting free silver. You feking deserve it for your quality videos you produce BYB!!
Ive completly given up with gold & silver, i dont drive & live in the far southwest so ime limited to dealers in plmouth & the surounding towns. Every time the silver price go's down they shove the premiums sky high for buyers & every time it go's up they stop buying, its total waste of time here, its impossible to make money from physical down here, all the dealers are corrupt.
I'm stacking small and slow to complement a stocks and shares ISA and pension funds. After a little less than a year I've settled on 2 reliable dealers for margin scheme silver coins, BYB for opportunistic grab it now stuff, 2 dealers for low premium sovereigns and half Sovereigns and another for their own brand 1g Gold Bars. I'll buy every month, but within a dip in that month. I also average in to a gold ETC to limit what I store and to take some of the effort out, which could be sold within 48hours if I need to liquidate in a hurry
I struggle to understand how the premiums for Silver are so high. A well known dealer in the NW (UK) prices has pre-owned Silver Britannia’s at £24.32. The premium is £6.60 over spot (£17.72) A new Britannia is £24.68 this includes a £2.85 Premium + VAT. Call me naive, but why are the pre-owned premiums so high? My next question is where can I buy Silver at a reasonable price?
Try find independent registered dealers if you want better prices, thing with big stores is they have big overheads..their premiums are based on outgoings, I avoid them. Its not my fault they employe 15 staff and pay rent.
Interesting and i tend to agree but had you datrted around 2010- 2011 in silver you may have a different take on it all . I have also been a buyer since 2014 in silver after eatching the market for 5 years and so have had similar experience to you, i switch to 100% gold for precious metals in 2017 though . I still own my 400oz or so of silver
The Doomsday scenario would be much worse than even the most radical pepper can imagine. Make the system better, don’t talk it down. Heresy alert: fiat money IS money!
IMO silver as a stacking ‘investment’ is dead - too much market manipulation. Your gold example of profit yielded about the same as a 5% compound interest savings account over the same period 2015-2024 so not too bad……
Profit? No. Make this video again, but instead of "the gold price has risen and I have made a profit", take the correct approach and try "the value of fiat has fallen and I don't care because I'm in gold". Gold is constant. Everything else fluctuates.
I was going to buy those silver coins at spot price but they closed the offer before I got paid. If only they had held it open for another 8 hours - oh well.
Good to work hard, but ofcourse there are elements of luck responsible for success. The roll of the dice. Im sure 90% or more of the BYB wannabe channels failed and we are seeing survivourship bias when looking at BYB. Genetics, circumstance, situation, location, family money... all can be examples responsible for success. For this channel, for example we definitely have a guy with high trait conscientiousness, which predicts industriousness. There is relatively low neuroticism which predicts risk tolerance, HODLing ability and a low propensity to get depressed and give up etc. And lets not forget the voice, it is characteristically unique much like Numi's voice. There are also serepdipetous aspects that predict success, like location born and related accent etc... BYB in Uganda, Angola or another third world country, just wouldnt be the same 😂😊😂!

Buy gold sovereigns from Atkinson's bullion. Ignore the royal mint, you will pay way more than you will ever need.

Avoid eBay until you are very familiar with what you are buying and how to check it's genuine.

do u think chards silver 1kg coin for 706 special offer inc delivery a good price
If it includes tax too, it's not horrible. I saw some kilo silver bars sell on the silver forum today for £675
@@BackyardBullion includes vat there special scheme hard to find a rright price to pay for a 1kg austrialian coin
I think that's a fair price, could be a touch better but as you say they aren't easy to come by

They should put the time and effort setting up a channel and then they'll get the perks for themselves
Thanks!
In a few years time hopefully the world will be a happier place people will have more disposalble funds and PM will do very well
Those 100 oz. Englehards are my favorite
I got my tudor dragon in post today😎
Nice one BYB
If you want shot of your 10 oz Valiant - I'll pay £220.00 for it!
Steal it…..
Not always the best course of action!
You get free silver when doing your thing. I get free cash every month, i just need to do my job.
👍👍
Bookface. 😂
Or whatever it's called!
My humour, Bookface also made me laugh 😂
I need a sugar momma to give me free silver and gold. That would be something I keep secret! 😂
Look at the price now lol
If you buy second hand silver coins you don't pay any VAT at all.
No need to get defensive BYB! Sensible people won't begrudge you getting freebies for your excellent content.
