Some of them are very spartan, some others are really amazing, like the one in the video. Some of them are always open, some others you need to get the keys at some CAI offices in the cities nearby, it depends. You don’t have to pay for it, but an offer is always appreciated. It’s important to keep them clean and tidy and if possible to replace the wood used for the stove, for example. The reason they exist is maily for emergencies, like you are caught in a storm or a blizzard, or you got injuried (most of those shelters have a dedicated landline for emergencies), but you can also use them as basecamp for longer hikes. I know these shelters exists in France and Switzerland too, and most likely among the whole alps. Idk who or which foundation maintain them though. Also, probably not only the CAI is responsible of their maintenance, can be the regional government or the province too, it depends.

I am very inspired with this great Bruno's video, so I plan to go there. I see he suggests hiring a guide, but I think you do not need it here. From what I see on the Internet, in summer time this is a non-technical but long walk up tour from the south-east side.
4:40 The gas stove !! The hut has cooking fuel? Is that routine? I suppose you can’t depend on the stove working every trip. 8:31 it is someone’s house! Bed blankets pillows. It looks comfy, like it’s heated!

Another great video, thanks! Any change you will do "5 more easy peaks in the Dolomites" ? Or maybe intermediate ones :) Last year I went to the Dolomites for the second time and did 3 out of 5 of the suggested easy peaks, and I want to go again this year. Anyway, keep up the excellent your work, your videos are an inspiration to the soul and pleasure to the eye.
