In 1979 young Donna, Tanya and Rosie graduate from Oxford University -- leaving Donna free to embark on a series of adventures throughout Europe. On her journeys, she makes the acquaintances of Harry, Bill and Sam -- the latter whom she falls in love with, but he's also the man who breaks her heart. In the present day, Donna's pregnant daughter, Sophie, dreams of renovating a taverna while reuniting with her mother's old friends and boyfriends on the Greek island of Kalokairi.

I can’t tell you how much everyone in the theater just bawled their eyes out when this song was over that our popcorn was more salty
Same I was 11 and I remember the audience and my grandparents and my aunt and my mom and my sisters and I crying and cheering during this scene when I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out

I'd had multiple miscarriages and was finally 5 months pregnant when this movie was released. Let me tell you, this song affected myself and my husband like a ton of bricks during this scene. Still my daughters theme song at almost 3 years old now.
I’ve been on hormone treatments trying to get pregnant. We finally got pregnant in March only to sadly miscarriage. This Song gets me everyone time, and I told my boyfriend when we get pregnant again and have our rainbow baby… This will be our theme song too!

I lost 4 babies befor i had my eldest daughter since then i have the joy of another girl and 2 boys and still goin through tough times as my 3yo boy is havin chemo for a tumor my other boy is asd and my 4 wk old dd is in hospital with bronchiolitis this movie alwys cheers me up and hopefully ur lives are as fulfilling as mine congrats btw

Who else shed tears in the theatres? I went to see it 3 times and saw many people cleaning their eyes, including myself. It is so emotional even if you're not a mother. Amanda's voice and those flashbacks of Sophie's birth. Damn 😓

I'm so glad I got to continue this story. When I 1st watched mamma Mia 1 I was 6 years old and loved it. Now I watched this at 15 and seriously those memories of the 1st movie were so clear. The story is so emotional and the songs are so good. I really miss this and the good old days

For my spring piano/vocal recital next month I'm going to do this and surprise my mom by dedicating it to her; for Christmas this year I got her matching mother/daughter bracelets (they're silver with pastel pink, blue, yellow and green stones, and my recital dress is white with pastel flowers and pastel green stems, so it matches the bracelets; my shoes are white) and Cher's new "Dancing Queen" CD, which I bought on release day and hid in my desk until Christmas. In my previous post I mentioned that my parents adopted me at 10 months old after struggling for 15 years to have children; my mom had a pelvic laparoscopy done (which came back negative) and my parents had two failed IVF's, they eventually found out my dad has a low sperm count and decided to adopt about 8 years into their marriage (it takes about 7 years for a first adoption from beginning to end).

TheaterServant she brought it on herself. In the first movie Donna said that Ruby told her to not come home after she got pregnant.
I realize that, but she finally realized the stupid mistake she made, & although she wants to have a real relationship w/ her only grandchild, still she realizes she has to live with that constant regret for the rest of her natural life cause her only child is gone forever. Ruby & Donna will never get to make amends, which would obviously kill any mother, but especially one who lost her only child, like Ruby, cause Donna never mentioned havin any siblings.
