Lyrics: On that night that I Got lost within the dust It had filled my lungs With the memory of us On that night when we Met upon the barren field Your embrace told me Not to tell you how I feel You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, somehow" "That I am married now" You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, that somehow" "I am married now" On that night that I Was lost within the dust It had filled my lungs With the memory of us On that road when we Spoke of stone and dust and light You had everything But a place to stay the night You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, somehow" "That I am married now" You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, that somehow" "I am married now" What are the chances These circumstances And no one else around I can't remember How I arrived here Or how I'd fallen down What are the chances These circumstances Yours was the closest bed I can't remember Just how I got here I must have hit my, I must have hit my head On that road when we Spoke of stone and dust and light You had everything But a place to stay You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, somehow" "That I am, I am" You had ripped your jeans, somehow You said you'd fallen down And, "Would you believe, that somehow" "I am married now"
@@RobbieM5290 I think it's a story about two childhood friends that shared mutual feelings for one another. One of them was already in a relationship with someone else but they weren't happy. So they ran away and met up with their childhood friend. They told their friend about their life and all of the things they had... but they still weren't happy. "We spoke of stone and dust and light. You had everything but a place to stay the night". There's a dark undertone to way this person so casually says, "Would you believe, that somehow I am married now?". As if they wish it weren't true. "What are the chances , these circumstances? Yours was the closest bed". They are seeking respite from their current life in the arms of their friend. I think that they are possibly being disingenuous when they say, "What are the chances?" and "I can't remember just how I got here". I think they ran away and were hoping to find their friend. Or they were truly not expecting to run into their friend and they really didn't remember how they ended up where they did. Which is an even more depressing take on the story because it would mean that they were traumatized and not just running away because they were unhappy. I have no idea though. I could be completely off base.
@@DillonTaylorVA I think that's a great theory! It sounds very plausible! The only thing I would change is your interpretation of the *"Yours was the closest bed, I can't remember just how I got here. I must have hit my head."* lyrics. This sounds like regret after seeking solace elsewhere. A lot of the time, when one seeks attention from old flames, they get a moment of clarity about what their actions really mean. It's quite possible the one who fled into another's bed woke up and realized they made a mistake.
Both theories are good. A fond memory of their love... Matrimony and Dust... "I am married now"... "with the memory of us". But hey, what do i know. "You had everything"

mouseish I’ve been playing music for twenty years. lol. That’s music 101. What are the chances of Blaqk Audio’s intro sounding like Thrice’s epic outro on their album before their farewell tour? very slim lol.
Hm I didn't think it was happy. Looking at the lyrics I kinda think it deals with this concept Christians have of becoming "married" once people have sex. And the lyrics also suggest that the other person came out of nowhere and coaxed the guy into spending the night with them.
I’m not sure either. It’s more bittersweet than anything. Yet who ever said they are married, Dave doesn’t give a response on how he feels about it but judging by the other words it’s a nostalgic sadness but it’s good to reminisce.
One lover, remembers the past, wants to repeat. But the second lover has already managed to get married. I don't see anything happy. Surprised that you do not understand your native language. (Although, it’s easier for me to indulge myself)
it's not bad it's just kinda boring the new album? cexcells is still my favourite from BA kinda feel like they have less interesting tracks on each release- saying that though i thought that the last afi album / missing man ep had some great stuff and the viles wasn't a bad first single - fav blaqk audio songs would be - cities of night - wake up, open the door and escape to the sea - first to love - cold war - say red - semiotic love - deconstructing gods - stiff kittens - snuff on digital - annointed ---------------- hmm -
It seems like there’s less crafting compared to the almost 7 years they might’ve had to dabble with CexCells. I agree though; seems like there’s slightly more “filler” songs and they’re good, but not fulfilling.
Davey has the voice of a literal angel
He does
It's true!
Absolute best BA song since the CexCells album.
Lyrics:
On that night that I
Got lost within the dust
It had filled my lungs
With the memory of us
On that night when we
Met upon the barren field
Your embrace told me
Not to tell you how I feel
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, somehow"
"That I am married now"
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, that somehow"
"I am married now"
On that night that I
Was lost within the dust
It had filled my lungs
With the memory of us
On that road when we
Spoke of stone and dust and light
You had everything
But a place to stay the night
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, somehow"
"That I am married now"
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, that somehow"
"I am married now"
What are the chances
These circumstances
And no one else around
I can't remember
How I arrived here
Or how I'd fallen down
What are the chances
These circumstances
Yours was the closest bed
I can't remember
Just how I got here
I must have hit my, I must have hit my head
On that road when we
Spoke of stone and dust and light
You had everything
But a place to stay
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, somehow"
"That I am, I am"
You had ripped your jeans, somehow
You said you'd fallen down
And, "Would you believe, that somehow"
"I am married now"

The best song of the whole album. My brain is screaming on a loop of delight!
Just been flicking through the tracks deciding whether to buy the cd, and this sounds like their best work yet! I'd be mad not to get this.

I forgot about these guys between like 2011 and today. this is great!
Intro chord progression and melody reminds me of the ending of Disarmed by Thrice.
When there are only 12 notes, its going to get a bit reminiscent of another thing from time to time.

See you guys on Saturday!!!
I fucking love you guys. 🖤🖤🖤
Such a perfect ending track. This is clearly the closing chapter to (Davey's side) of the story and I really hope that this isn't the last BA album.
