I think there are a couple of reasons why the build is unpopular. One is that you absolutely require a front liner to keep the heat off of you to be effective, which can be hard to find in solo queue. Even with Veil’s nice new damage reduction, if two or more enemies get to you you’re toast regardless of damage reduction. Getting farmed by enemies is never fun, but it feels especially bad on A9.
The other reason is that the build feels a bit dull to play, especially compared to Blizzard Avalanche. Just standing back and autoing in Veil isn’t the most immersive gameplay; whereas hitting a nice blizz ava combo on three or more enemies feels much more fun, and the cc it provides often feels more impactful.
I guess there’s a third thing, too, which is that A9 matches up rather poorly against Mimikyu. In this game, the enemy one played rather poorly, but a halfway decent one eats up low mobility attackers like A9 and Chandelure. With Mimikyu being so strong and meta right now, you really have to hope the enemy Mimikyu is bad, or your front liners really protect you hard.
I find the moveset good in full tank build enemie gengar with lvl advantage got frustrated at how he can't kill me with unite then dream eater
In early game go on enemies side and icy wind farm towards your side the build is
Buddy barrier ( can swap out for cookie or something )
Resonating gaurd ( kinda useless can also swap out )
And focus band (a must )

I’m new and like alolan nintales, is it a good strat to use the blizzard avalanche combo usually, but if the team lacks support use dazzling gleam and aurora veil instead?
@@Ryan-cn4emokay so im an oldschool veil a9 player, my honest recommendation is to not play ninetales at all. at least veil because it may look strong but seeing how most champions now have infinte dashes and/or inmunity to cc you will honestly just die or be live at the expense of begin half useless in any skirmish. if you try to play as support you will ragequit because compared to other GENUINE supports ninetales is dogwater. i feel like most people are decieved by her numbers on the veil dmg reduction, they may seem strong but truthfully speaking you will barely feel them when fighting vs any champion. your teammates will barely feel it too since damage in this game is unfair and it only is ever felt when youre levels ahead, i always thought of it more as a self buff rather than an aoe buff because of how bad it is. it doesnt help that she has no passive and the literal worst ultimate in the game which is an aoe "finisher" that attackers can easily dash out of and bruisers can ignore because even if it has high ratios and deals big damage having you stand on a single spot for 2 seconds while channeling a skill which is base for most new attackers is honestly mid. they either need to increase a9 aurora veil's dmg reduction or allow her to have more mobility, remove that nasty ult too and change it for something useful like her main game passive where she just summons a bunch of snow and makes you instantly lose the match.
Finally this moveset is in a solid spot! Since veil gives so much damage reduction to anyone on your team I think placing it in a good spot could potentially decide whole fights
I find best times to place it is on your teammate before enemie jungler comes
I do a troll full tank build in A9 so enemies jungler can't, kill me it's my teammate that needs help

@@HI-ho4bj nah for me it's nice to see the jungler gengar getting frustrated at how his unite move shadow ball and dream eater don't even put me to half hp
Tried full offense on A9 and it's dogwater with fairy moveset
Full tank can atleast secure farm by compromising itself and still living

Full offense is better on the ice build

I agree with you on that. I feel like people tend to pick fly since it gives talon invincibility and brave bird is sometimes difficult to hit if your enemies suspect it.
It absolutely is underrated. Its an attacker delete button. There is no way a solo q player can react fast enough and if they get hit, they just die.
I agree 💯 I have over 2000 games on talon and I've never played fly I played brave bird when it was considered bad. It isn't bad ppl just don't understand how to play it well

Man i love that Aurora veil build feels viable again its been so long! Feels like it can complete with the blizzard build again. Ive been having a great time and done some good climbing with the veil build

Cris what do you think of the idea of making aurora veil to work like trick room? So A9 can get a better chance of surviving and repositioning while aurora veil is on cooldown. But unlike mimikyu that can spam the dash nonstop, they can give some coldown after every dash to make it balance. While for aurora veil plus, they can add cooldown reduction to the dash every boosted attack or just straight up lowering the dash cooldown abit if they want to keep it really balance still.
I was actually thinking of them giving cooldown reduction to the dazling gleam every boosted auto but I'm afraid it might be too broken since it gives stun already
Unrelated but just had a game with an ally absol doing 300 dmg and just trolling the entire match. Reported him but i am sure he doesnt receive any penalties. The report system needs a rework. It is so easy to bypass. This was in masters 1500 btw

I saw a build by phil youmuus yesterday where he made full tank A9 focus band resonate gaurd and buddy barrier (i think swapping buddy for cookie is better when not in team fights) i could 1 v 1 a greninja with 1 level advantage since i outlast him also with fairy moveset
Its a troll build and seems stupid but its nice to take a squishy and just go in the enemies face to score or something
It survives 1v1 attacks but dont push it with 1 v 3
Edit the greninja had the lvl advantage he was 14 i was 13 idiot went out his goal zone to try kill me since he was defending and he died (no unite moves were used)

So they buffed the ice rat... Great.. even more people will now play it with leftovers and exp share. I'd honestly like a Covet/Belch Greedent buff to make it more viable in this current meta, the mechanics of that moveset are definitely great. They're just not really enough to be annoying.
