I met a man once who said ,” pretend to be happy and you will be happy all the time !” And he added, “ you will never make me believe evil exists ...” He was so charismatic and friendly that most people wondered how it was that he was always so “ happy “. But he wasn’t . He pretended to be.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us. Thank you Sensus Fidelium, your work and spreading the word of God has helped me greatly; believe it. I wish that many more people learn of this channel, I try telling fellow members of the church but it seems not many care about their relationship with God and the church. What happened? I can't believe Catholics ignore their faith and don't see religion for what it is. Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Sometimes God's will asks us to undergo shocking suffering. Only His grace can allow us to accept it in holy resignation. So always we must pray to forgive the hurts we endure, the crushing of many dreams if that is what He gives us to accept and to love and do the will of God in our lives immediately upon knowing what it is, out of love for Him. He gave everything for us , we must long and pray to love Him in the same way.

I believe the mourning of my loved ones is a lesson that I should not despair for God has my loved ones cared for in His Providence and I am cared for also. What can keep us from the love of God? Tomorrow we will be with Him in Paradise.

VITAL SERMON to elevate & perpetuate our Gifts Of Trust and Faith IN GOD.
To understand that HIS HOLY ALMIGHTY HAND is IN ALL THINGS for our SALVATION.
To KNOW that our Happiness IS IN WHAT WE GET, and NOT IN WHAT WE WANT TO GET.
Thank you, dear Father, our faithfilled Shepherd.

How to live united to Christ, laboured all night and got nothing. Abandonment means humility, sacrificing our free will. I can't do this alone.

Brilliant. One act of abandonment is more pleasing to God than many act of sacrifice..... because the first follows God's will and the second is what we choose to give to God. Abandonment of one's will ..the letting go of the self is on the surface of it the biggest sacrifice of all. But it's a paradox because self abandonment leads to fulfillment and happiness in God and eternal life and holding on to our will in place of God's leads to emptiness, sorrow and eventally an eternal death.

Everything this guy said was theologically sound, yet his voice was flat and devoid of passion. This is how I tell he is a Catholic priest and not a born-again Christian.
My favorite point was - as Sheryl Crowe sang - It's not getting what you want. It's wanting what you have. Contentment with your lot in life is peace and joy.

I dunno. I like both passion and devout seriousness; what matters is.... will he preach what's true. Every priest has a personality, I prefer ones that are seriously direct or passionate over ones who talk too much or are boring and too fluffy-like.

Fr. Blount is pretty passionate and silly, Fr. Larry Richards is masculine and authoritative, Fr. Goring is gentle and encouraging, Fr. Mike is friendly and joyful, Fr. Donald Calloway is blunt and playful, Fr. Vincent Lampert is humorous and clever.

This seems a little jumbled to me, lacking theological precision, like he's mixing metaphors and concepts. For example he says "the source and summit of the spiritual life is...abandonment?" That source and summit phrase nearly always refers to the Holy Eucharist. Also, there are many injustices people suffer because of the sin of others. It is questionable to say these offenses are "from God," even though God could bring good out of the situation. There are some fine and subtle distinctions that seem to be lacking here.

Too great an application of Occams Razor by the pastor. Best to be clear and accurate.

    • @mottledbrain
      @mottledbrain 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Jesus Himself suffered "many injustices ... because of the sin of others." And yet all that Jesus suffered was from God.
Sinful people that cause suffering are merely the instruments that God uses to carry out His loving justice, no matter how horrible it may seem from our perspective.
There is a great little book on this theme that is also available on line: www.olrl.org/snt_docs/trustful/

No Father is correct. Our spirituality reaches its best possible state when we abandon all of ourselves to God for love of God. That is the source and summit of our spiritual life. He is using language to spark imagination to help us understand better. The source and summit of the Faith is the holy eucharist He is not contradicting that.
