Sierra Point in Yosemite Valley is pretty great. There is a good “unofficial” trail that runs from Thousand Island Lake to Minaret Lake which is amazing! The whole trip is in the shadow of The Minarets and Mt. Ritter…
Amazing shots! I want to go! Well if it's less than a 2 mile hike and less than 100 feet of elevation gain. But yeah, if the hike up there fits within that, I totally want to go!
Your videos of Yosemite are always superlative! I like your commentaries, to be sure; but it was right, here, to let the landscape speak for itself. I know the force, if you step into moving water! Buen camino! :--}>
Thank you! Yeah what else needs to be said on this trip? :) We had to make several creek crossings to see all this but they were pretty tame higher up. :)
Nice view. I been there last year 2023 in mid-May but didn't make it to the two bridges next to the water fall due to flooding. Where is this trail going up to the water fall so I can go this year. Thanks !
Outstanding! I watch just about every YNP video that gets posted and this one is in my top 5 all-time. I’ve always wanted to do this hike to answer one burning question. Does Tueeulala Fall have its own watershed? Or does it simply get its water as overflow from Falls Creek? Did you hike to where Falls Creek branches off to the smaller fall? Thanks!
Nope, as near as I can tell it's runoff plus a marshy source near the trail that leads to Laurel Lake! We did not hike up Falls Creek on this trip, but I know people follow it to Vernon. That's on the bucket list too!
I love watching your Yosemite hikes on the less popular trails. I'm curious if this hike can be done as a 2 or 3 day (long?) weekend hike and what is the name of this trail.
Thanks! It could be done as a day hike or extended to as long as you want. There are loop opportunities in the area or you can make your own up if you are comfortable with off-trail. We took the trail that leads up out of the canyon from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir toward the lakes (up the switchbacks about a mile from the parking lot) and then we went off trail to the waterfall tops.
Absolutely amazing! Thanks for the video, this make me want to see it for myself. How long was the overall hike? How much elevation gain? Anywhere I can find coordinates/gps recording of this?
Caltopo says it's about 9 miles with 2,500' of gain total round trip. It's about 3 miles with 1,800' gain to where you turn off trail, then 1.5m miles overall flat but rough off trail to the top of Wapama Fall. Reaching the top of Tueeulala adds a mile or so. Then you gotta get back down. I do not have gps routes. Thanks for watching!
I'm going on this trail next week. Do you have any recommendations for the best path to take to get to the tops of these falls? Where were you able to cross the rivers? Was is pretty dangerous?
There is no trail or path to these spots - you'll need to be able to navigate. The creek crossings were not dangerous where we crossed but with the increased heat they could be higher.
What's the best off trail you've done?

Awesome seeing Wapama from up on top!
I had no idea how cool it would be!
INCREDIBLE NATURE. OUTSTANDING CINEMAPHOTOGRAPHY.
Thank you! It's a beautiful place for sure.
Perfect video for morning coffee time! I try to do off trail all I can, sometimes it makes a fun trip and sometime I cry, stuck in manzanita.
Agreed 100% (Type 1 vs. Type 2 fun!)
Great scenery and photo skills Doug!
and, pretty proud of those Crocs now huh?🤣
Thank you! Yeah, they rock as camp shoes as it turns out. :)
You captured a beautiful rainbow at the damn.
The water was so insane there! Yeah we saw some great ones off Tueeulala too! Thanks for watching Senior Hiker!!!
Wow this is fantastic! I can’t imagine how awesome it was in person. Best vid of the day. Thank you sir well done and God Bless
Thanks! Yeah I spent two days not being able to believe I was there!
This is breathtaking, what views!! I can’t imagine what it was like in person. What an Adventure for sure!
Yeah I basically spent two days not believing where I was!
Everytime I see videos of Hetch Hetchy I can't help to think what this good have been if it were left alone.
Same. :(
Absolutely amazing...
Agreed! :)
This is cool, I was there last year and was wondering what it would look like from the top.
Took me two tries with all the off trail - it helped having a whole day since the gate closes during the day!
Beautiful scenery! Thanks for taking us along!
It's an amazing place!

Thank you my friend!

Yeah, it was wild water that year! The trail begins by following the switchbox up to the top of the ridge comma then you just got to figure it out. :)
