Great video, I followed you step for step and had no issues. Thanks. One thing that was different on my Caddy was before I could release the wiring harness handle on the back of the panel I had to pinch a button down on the side to release the handle.
Quoc Truong what do you mean by door check? I'm having a problem with my driver's side window in that it won't go up or down with the door closed. However, if I open the door by about 1foot and a half, the window will operate as normal. Does anyone know what this could be?
google cadillac srx door check. this keeps the door from swinging wide open. it sounds like you might have a problem with the window regulator motor although it's odd that it'll work if you open the door about a 1 1/2.
In my Cadillac the window just don't move or move very slowly depending of the degree of cold. when 20 or below it can creep down and stick there at all. So I have to lift it with hands. Maybe I have to lubricate something?
The exact same thing is going on with my 2011 SRX that I bought this past October. I love it. I purchased the dealerships extra warranty because even though it’s a 10 year old car it only has 21,031 miles on it and it was very well cared for. That said a few things have had to have been fixed; sunroof shade $876, there was a leak in the sunroof and it caused the rear electric trunk regulator, or whatever it is, to blow out which was around $2,000 to fix but all I paid for that was $100. The rest was covered by the warranty I bought. I’m just wondering how much it will cost (average) to get the drivers side window fixed because like I said mine is doing the exact same thing that the vehicle in this video is doing. I don’t know if the warranty I bought will cover it but I’m trying to prepare for the worst.
I have a 2010 cadillac srx and the front passenger side window just stopped working. It does not move at all. Would this likely be a motor problem or something else? Neither the master switch for that window nor the passenger switch work at all. The window does not even move. The other three windows work fine.
What is the lifespan of a regulator? Did that window end up needing any further repairs over time? I see lots of people replacing the regulator and the motor at the same time because they say if they replace one, the other will just die soon after and they’ll have to do it all over again. Just wanted to see, in retrospect, if you had any trouble with the regulator over time. Thanks!!
We recently traded in the car - it had 180,000+ on it. I shot this about 50,000 - so, about 130,000 more trouble free miles (and about 5 years) Never had any other issues with the window.
Thank you very much for these videos. I was able to replace my window motor all by myself and saved $310.
Hey Oldman thanks for the tutorial, I have exactly the same problem but I can find the video # 2 thanks
Crap, sorry. Total armature here. Added a card at the end with it. A bit late for you, hope that helps the next guy.

appreciate the video...i have to replace the door check on the driver's side and was wondering what it took to take the door panel off

Sorry, I am not a mechanic by trade, just a guy that likes to fix his own stuff - so no idea what it would cost.
Hey if your car only has 21k miles you still should be under warranty?? How did you find such a deal?

Sure could be - a problem with the motor would present like you describe.
You are correct. It was the motor/regulator combo. Works perfectly now. Thank you!
Same problem im having with my 2010!!
