It will be as if ignoring the words of Allah. If we play it in public places and people ignore it by focusing on their work then they are sinful maybe And we may become source of their sin. It is best to listen on your own. Nouman ali khan has a lecture on this issue. And assim al hakeem also commented on it.
I used to listen songs regularly for 1 year but i can say it was the most unrestful year for me.....i just deleted whole playlist one day as i was emotionally high after listening this line موسیقی دلوں کو سیاہ کردیتی ہے۔ Alhamdulilah i refrained my self from songs and now i hate them.....its been 5 years now without listening music. Yes we can survive better without listening music ......
