Gross Iser in the Jizera Mountains - a settlement that disappeared

Hala Izerska is a popular place in the Jizera Mountains, which is eagerly visited by many tourists. However, few people know that there used to be a settlement in this place.
At the beginning of the twentieth century there were: 43 residential houses, 2 inns, 3 hostels, 2 customs offices, a café, a forester's lodge, a fire brigade, a hunting lodge and an old and new school. However, today in the place of all these buildings we can only see barely visible ruins. What happened to this settlement and why did it cease to exist? I invite you to watch the video.
