Regarding mould in the shower. Get a window squeegee and use that after you have a shower to dry the shower walls and the door. Will help reduce the humidity in the bathroom as it reduces standing water.
Had our share of mould issues too. Those products you have work, but the mould will come back. The best thing you can do is to put on a dehumidifier for an hour after the your shower. What I do now is ventilate most of the day, and after 8PM I close the windows and turn on the dehumidifier. Sometimes two of them if there's extreme humidity, but mostly one is enough even in my big living area. They are pretty efficient in terms of electricity use.
The perennial problem in Portugal - mould. A cheap, but effective solution is white vinegar and dishwasher liquid (a cup)/ or baking soda in a large spray bottle. The fumes from CIF can be overpowering. The key is ventilation and a regular wipe down. The fire pit is doing its job. Yes Matthias, there’s always something😊.
Olá Mathias. As my education on mould reduction has grown (and as mentioned below), air flow/ventilation is incredibly helpful in significantly reducing and slowing mould growth ... especially in the high humidity of a bathroom ... even if it means opening up and airing out the space when it's cold outside. Also, if your cleaning product contains chlorine (as some/many do), please be very careful with inhaling the fumes, and use a mask for filtering fumes - chlorine is caustic, and can actually harm your lungs. I have also heard, but not verified, that chlorine bleaches the mould (so it becomes invisible and 'looks' clean), but doesn''t actually kill it, and that white vinegar (though I hate the smell) is safe, and actually kills the mould and it's roots. Might be worth investigating. ... And BOY! The girls had quite a growth spurt from last week!
The shower has a permanent opening that is open and still gets mold. I should ventilate more, but when i investee t8me and energy to heat the place i dont want to open doors and windows to let the heat eacape....so until i find a better way i will have to deal with mold
